maybe but I don't think that this tick was caused by a valve guid like most because it was an intermittent tick.

Much props to you OP. First off, buying that DSG with such low miles and nice upgrades for $14k is a steal! It looked pristine and still does. Don't see many deals like that nowadays. Glad you made the move before the Wife did . Then removing the engine and rebuilding it all on your OWN comes to show you are one highly talented individual. Hope you're son is enjoying it now. It sounds perfect!!
