03 &04 X Pipe

What is the difference between the '03 and '04 x pipe? I would assume they would be interchangeable.

Yes, the '04 rear cat is longer and you need O2 extensions.

The upr x's for 04's come with the necessary 02 extensions. That's why it's 20 bucks more

They are different as mentioned about 02sensor locations. My car was built late 03 but is a 04 model and I didnt need the extenders with my x. Think ford put a 03 leftover mid in my car.
