Kicking around the idea of going IRS. Looking for a 03/04 unit. Upgraded axles and bushings would be a big plus.

Located in central IL and would prefer to not mess with shipping.

Could work out some form of a trade on a fully built solid axle. Has a 03/04 diff, 31 spline axles, 3.55 gears, TA diff dover, Maximum Motorsports coil-overs, lower control arms, panhard bar and torque arm.

There are differences, yes. It is mostly a lot of little things that add up. There are even some difference between 99 and 01 IRS types.

Predominantly though it is gear ratios, stronger differentials, stronger halfshafts, mounting differences on the diff case, bushing material/durability and so on.

It's old, but there is an incredible tech article from about 15 years ago:

I have an 01 Cobra IRS, 31 spline, 3.55 gears, upgraded poly bushings, axle gridle, Spec D Tokico adjustable shocks, a set H&R 51659 front and rear springs and probably much that I didn't cover. Just a few hours away in southeast Missouri. You can call me and I'll send you some pics if you are interested. Muy dinero has been invested into this setup and it held up to over 700 RWHP

Read ya Later, Nick
