03-04 half shafts

hey dumb question, and i think i know the answer anyway......i know the 99's have 28 spline halfs, are the 03-04s 31 spine? or are the 01's too? when i end up doing my rear suspension work, im thinking about upgrading to 31 spline.thanks

Correct. The 99 IRS is 28 spline only.

However, I've never seen a half shaft break at the splines. It's usually at the inner CV.

Instead of shelling out money for a new differential and halfshafts, I would recomend just going with a set of raxles for the 99 differential. Saves you a bit of money.
