01 GT WOT question

My GT is an automatic with xe270ah cams 2,700 rpm stall 4.10 gears rebuilt engine n/a control arms longtubes NT05R 315/35/17 tires ect my question is from a dig on wot should I mash it from 1 and manual shift from 1 through drive or mash it from drive and that’s what I’ve done is mash it from drive and it’s a rocket out of the hole just curious on what’s better

If it's not short shifting on you then there's no sense in trying to make it hold a gear by manually shifting it.
