01 Cobra won't go in reverse. Any thoughts?

Hey all,
2001 Cobra won't go in reverse. I tried with and without the eng started. 1-5 have zero issue, but when it comes to reverse, nothing.

Had the vehicle since 2011 and haven't had any problems before.

I am no mechanic, but would like an easy fix in lieu of taking to dealership, but will if necessary or recommended.

I had mine a long time ago so I might be misremembering the shift pattern, so bear with me. I could never get it to go straight into reverse. I found that if I went from 4th to R it worked everytime

Can't remember if I had the problem with the stock shifter, mgw, or both

Easiest thing you can do is take shifter assembly out and check to make sure it moves freely. Also want to check if shifter cup bushing isn’t broken or worn badly. If all good there. Might be internal issue.
