01 Cobra Spec 2 w/ T56

I just got my new Spec stage 2 clutch w/ AL flywheel install on my 2001 cobra w/ the stock 3650. My question is: If I get a T56 (mostly likely Cobra R spec) will it be compatible with my clutch/flywheel combo? Thanks

I just checked Spec's website and they have the same part # for 99-04 Cobras, so I guess it is compatible. Anybody have any first and experience w/ this though?

yes it will work...i've got a spec stage3 in my t56(03) that i had when it was behind a t3650......later

Great, thanks. Are you happy with the swap? I think my 3650 needs a rebuild, but I would much rather get a T56 instead and not waste the money on my 3650.

i love the 6th gear!....just to cruise with...especially if you have gears.....a t-56 is a good swap...the only real hang up is the reverse lockout switch...for our cars' you can tap into the brake(hotwire) to power the lockout or there are one or two other ways to do it. i just decided to leave it alone for now, and use two hands to put it into reverse :-D ...good luck..

Isn't the 6th gear in the T-56 .62? And that's the same as the 3650's 5th gear right?

isn't the 6th gear just about the same ratio as a 3650's 5th gear. The 5th gear on a T56 is around .8 so that is the real difference.

at 80mph w/3.73's i see maybe 2200rpm...or something like that....it's great..

03 Cobra T56 6th gear is .63. Not sure on the 3650 but the T45 5th is .67 or .68. I run about 200 rpm less than with the T56 than I did with a T45. Not much of a difference.

Any 96-04 v8 clutch will fit the T56 input shaft, they are all 10 spline. The viper spec has the larger 26 spline input and requires a different clutch disk.

Reverse lockout isnt a big deal. I don't have mine wired and it's not hard to get into reverse.
