Sorry to beat a dead horse but I could not find the answers I need in google. Are the 99 and 01 cobra motors the same? Also, does the 01 cobra motor have forged internals in it? The reason I ask is I might have a shot at getting a 01 cobra motor but I dont want to bother with it if it doesnt have forged internals.

99 and 01 motors should be the same with very little refinements due to the 99 fiasco. From what I understand 01 have a forged crank the 99 should also.

they are not forged....only the crank is in the older cobras. Your pistons are hypereutectic, your block is aluminum, your rods are cast. The 99 intakes are different than the 01's kind of.... The prefix 99's had the same intake design but were restrictive and caused a loss of horsepower. The 01 intake/99 post fix intake was the new cast that was less restrictive.

01's have a better tune and make better midrange power right?
Not that I know of.....then again once you start modding it doesn't really matter as all that changes anyway.
