2013 F350 SRW here with 170k miles and no issues. Meticulously maintained engine. Would be a good before and after swap dyno vehicles.
Old blue is already DPF deleted, though. It’s how I bought her.
The Supercar G:2 got a bad wrap because they are very binary. When warm they are sticky. When not they are very slick and downright dangerous. With that said, Goodyear has replaced the Supercar G:2’s with Supercar 3’s. But try as I might, I can’t find ANY technical information as to what they...
Thanks! I responded.
It‘s really tempting to upsize from the 285/35R20 in the rear to the 295/35’s. The Cup 2’s have a more rounded shoulder than the GoodYear F1 Supercar tires the car came with; enough that the Cup 2‘s have 0.5” LESS measured tread width. If I ’upsize’ to the 295 Cup 2’s...
I need new shoes on my 2014 Shelby GT500. I’d like to try the Michelin Pilot Cup 2 Connects with the 240 treadwear rating. I have Discount tire locations near me who can install, but I don’t see those specific tires on discouttire’s website. There are Cup 2’s, but the Connect 240’s are the...
Another article on new paint colors for 2022. Whoopdee-do. Where’s the technical article on the GT and Mach 1 losing 10 horsepower for 2022? Oh, well I guess Ford isn’t feeding you all press releases on that one, huh?
I like the blue…Yawn. How about something that actually matters?
so as a follow up, the horsepower reductions in 2022 are to meet LEV III standards, which are a product of that pimple-infested, worthless, braindead dirt licking State of California and their CARB. It’s also about CO2, a tasteless oderless, harmless gas, not a pollutant. It’s an effort of one...
Tob, you need to get the lowdown for us on this 10 hp decrease on all of the 2022 5.0 Mustangs. The only thing I’ve seen is it is related to emissions, but that doesn‘t narrow things down much. It could be a calibration change, or a cat change, or ???. I need to know if this is a hardware of...
I like the GT/CS. I don’t know why they have always made that package exclusive of the Performance Package. It seems like a natural pair. I stopped being excited about Mustangs when the new GT500 and Mach 1 prices made them Luxury car class. Prices increases have outpaced wage increased...
That’s a cool swap and well done, but to answer you title question of “What’s not to love?”:
1) 16V OHC cam-in-block
2) heavy cast iron block (you alluded to how an aluminum block would be awesome. I agree.)
Regarding Godzilla in general: How about de-stroking it to a 429 and putting a...
I like the Super Duty. I own one with the 6.7, but they are terrible off road trucks. Ours has been off road twice and both times ended up stuck and had to be pulled out - One time on a mostly flat grassy surface: and the tires are in good shape! These trucks just weigh too much to be taken...
I like what Ford did with the 13-14 Trinity GT500:
- Bigger Blower
- Smaller Pulley
- More displacement
- More compression
- Bigger Cams
- More RPM
There’s something to be said when a manufacturer takes and ‘all of the above’ approach :-)
I need new tires for my 2014 GT500. Stock tire size is 265/40R-19 front and 285/35R-20 rear. According to michelinman.com, I can now (finally!) get Cup 2’s for my car. They are Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 Connect (240). I can’t seem to find these on Discount Tires website. Can I get them?
Losing a sound system, rear heated seats and a wireless charging pad, but adding a model year does not add up to a $4k price reduction. Sorry, there is more to the story here. I bet the MT statement of this one being RWD instead of AWD is probably the real reason for the price reduction. It...

I’m trying but I can come up with anything that makes sense, lol.
I saw in the Ford Performance Email today an article that talked about the small details they have changed between the time the vehicle was unveiled and when it went into production. Basically, they highlighted three changes. Two of which I hate and the third I can’t notice.
1) Chrome Outline...
“Forged with cast aluminum” Isn’t that an oxymoron? Which is it, forged or cast?
I was excited to see more information about the Mach 1, but this snippet has absolutely no technical information whatsoever. It would be nice to hear of any technical challenges and how they were overcome...
Lol. I see your point. After I bought my 662hp 2014 GT500 I decided that 600 horsepower should be the new minimum for any of my future vehicles :-). Anything less is just uncivilized. If a car can’t go 0-60 in under five seconds or a truck do the same feat in under six I’m dissappointed.
I agree if leaving it stock the Ecoboost would be more capable, but I want to put a blower on a V8. The way I see it, I can give a V8 low end torque (and WAY more horsepower)... I can’t make an Ecoboost sound good. If I want my cake and eat it too I’ve got to start with the V8 :-)
No I just did MSRP to MSRP. I doubt the 2021 has that big of a discount.
It might be a better deal to get a leftover 2020 F150 at this exact moment because of the model change, but I was taking an average (and admittedly simplified) look at prices average prices. Besides from what I’ve seen...
This post really opened my eyes! I hate to keep harping on it, but I built and priced a Lariat super crew 4x4 5.0 f150 and a similar F250 7.3... and the Super Duty was cheaper!!! WTH? Okay the new F150 has a bigger touch screen... but holy crap the Super Duty is WAY more truck for less money...
That 7.3 is a huge value! I’ve never considered a Super Duty without a PowerStroke, but the cost savings of the 7.3 makes it worth a test drive at least.
