I have a 2001 Silver Lightning with just under 36,000 miles that I am putting up for sale. I'm asking $13500 OBO. My wife and I recently had our first child and it just hasn't been getting driven much in the past couple years. We are moving soon and could use the extra money so I am listing it...
Hey guys, looks like my truck has burnt and/or lost a total of about 2 qts over the last 3000 miles. I put a quart in it at about 1500miles when I noticed it was a little low, I just finished changing the oil and only 4.5 qts came out (I'm sure a little more was stuck in the filter but not...
Hey guys, I finally made it out to the track last Friday night. I felt pretty good about the trip, it was my first time there with the Lightning, 2nd time to ever run down the strip. My best times were:
YouTube - 2.3L KB Lightning at the track
2.089 60ft (horrible I know)
8.349...
Hey guys, I think I may have discovered a vacuum leak on my truck. There is a valve of some sort that is bolted to the firewall on the driver's side. It has one large vacuum line running to it from the upper intake, one line the runs back to the fuel tank and a port on the bottom for another...
I'm finally getting the truck all fixed and running right, but I still have one major issue with it. The truck stumbles and sputters horribly under part throttle. If I give it light throttle, it does fine, and at WOT it runs great, it's the range in the middle. And trust me, it isn't fun driving...
I bought it thinking my '01 computer had a short in it. Turned out I just had a bad sensor , so anyway I don't need it anymore. If anyone wants it just make me an offer, I'd just like to get back part of what I paid for it.
In the factory headlights, "SVT" is written on the reflector that covers the bulbs. I was sitting in front of the truck today and just happened to look and see it. Just thought it was interesting, I was curious how many other people have or haven't noticed. Nice little detail from the SVT team!
Alright guys, I thought I finally got my crazy high IAT2 temp readings fixed. I took it to Ford and had their tech run a diagnostic on it. We ended up putting in a new IAT2 sensor, and I watched the computer as the tech installed it and saw the IAT2 temps change to the correct readings. However...
Hey guys, got the Bassani catback installed this past weekend. I finally got around to making a short idle and rev video tonight. Ignore the high idle, I'm trying to figure that out, you can hear how it SHOULD idle right after I blip the throttle a little bit. This thing had some horrible...
Hey guys, I just made a 2 hour trip down to my parent's house for the weekend and now that I got here, I can't get the truck to start back up. It ran great all the way here, no problems at all, now it just turns over and over but won't start.....Any suggestions?
I have my truck up and running again, but it isn't running any better. I took it apart to fix a coolant leak (hardline coming out of lower intake) and in the process, decided to replace the lower intake to head gaskets and one new plug. Now that it is running again, it is no better than before...
I'm happy to say I finally got her back up and running tonight. I've had a shop screwing around with my lower intake for about a month and a week but they were finally able to get it repaired and sent back to me. I only got to start it up and let it idle for a minute or so since it was pretty...
I just got my Bassani cat-back and started with installing it. I bought it used so I have no instructions and/or pictures to look at. Can someone just post up a few pics of the system installed (from the bottom, maybe even on a lift if you have some?). I'm going to have to cut the factory...
All I have to say is................wow

Ok, so I was trying to do part of the coolant crossover mod where you remove the factory hardline and drill out/thread the existing hole for a 1/2" pipe fitting. I didn't have the tools to do it, so I took it to a performance shop to have them do it. I specifically said, and even typed up on...
The nut that secures the ring terminal to the alternator had rusted onto the stud of my alternator somehow. I soaked it for a few hours in some WD-40, but when I went to wrenching on it, the stud came out of the alternator all together. Is this something I can fix/replace, or will I need an...
I'm trying to pull the upper pulley off my 2.3 KB to install a 2.5" one. I have the special wrench tool and all but I can't get the thing to break loose. Just to make sure, it is left hand threaded right? Any other tips on how to break it loose?
I have had horrible water spots on the quarter windows and side windows of my Mustang for as long as I can remember, even when it was my dad's car in '98. I've tried steel wool, vinegar, and pretty much every other remedy that is known. I found a thread here awhile back about some Zaino Z-12...
With school coming to an end, I'm finally starting to concentrate on the Lightning again. I just realized that when I bought the truck, the previous owner gave me 3 extra KB pulleys for it. At the time, I thought they were all larger than the one that was installed, however, I just realized one...
When I pulled the S/C and lower intake awhile back, the lower intake gaskets were blue. I reused them and since I'll be pulling the intake again soon, I'm ordering new ones. I just realized, based on Rockauto's website, that I should not have the blue colored gaskets, but instead a reddish...
Since the previous owners decided to crack the hard line that goes into the lower intake, and then put jb weld all over it......that leaks, I have to remove it and tap it for some sort of 1/2" fitting. I was looking at this: Russell Performance 663070 - Russell NPT to Smooth Hose Adapters
I...
As some of you may know, I've got some sort of electrical gremlin affecting my iat2 temp readings. I'm heading to a local salvage yard hopefully this weekend to pick up another electrical plug since mine is shot. Basically, the iat2 readings randomly jump between 0*, 60*, and 128*.
So I was...
The plug that connects to the iat2 sensor on my truck is in ROUGH shape. The metal part inside that actually makes the connection to the sensor is all bent up and messed up. I think it is what is causing my iat2 readings problem. Can anyone tell me where I can pick one up, or get a part number...
Hey guys, I'm trying to track down an electrical problem and am working with the iat2 sensor right now. I was wondering if anyone could verify that power should flow THROUGH the iat2 sensor. I can jump the plug with a piece of wire and get juice to both wires (using a test light). However...
Hey guys, did some more datalogging today and did the IAT2 temps for the first time. It randomly jumps between 0 , 60 and 128......bad sensor? Just to make sure, this is the sensor located on the passenger side in the lower intake right? I checked that sensors connections and everything seems...
