    Picked up an S197

Great looking rare color S197! Who tuned it? Can you datalog? Hopefully some things have been confirmed or I wouldn’t recommend ripping on it too much yet. What area of Michigan? -J

Bought a Dark Horse with the Ford Performance Whipple Kit

Crank. I’d have to look deeper on the DH again but I think it gets the Predator rods and the standard Coyote pistons/crank. The rods are the weak link so I’d think 1000hp crank is doable for a stock DH longblock. -J

Black Gold 380R's 65 Mustang Build Thread

I’d recommend a used oil analysis. Can get pre-paid kit thru Amsoil or Blackstone labs. For any fun car or a car like yours that doesn’t see a ton of miles the UOA is a cheap investment to monitor your stroker and it will also give you recommendations of oil change intervals based on your oil...

Thoughts on buying a “bridge car”?

https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/a15089180/2017-jaguar-f-type-svr-convertible-test-review/ Followed one around a track in a 350R, Viper ACR, and Ferrari 458. I actually think the SVR sounded the best. -J

Thoughts on buying a “bridge car”?

If you only need a 2 seater that Jag SVR blown 5.0 sounds amazing. -J

Thoughts on buying a “bridge car”?

Pretty big budget so a ton of options but what are you looking for? Manual? More raw or refined? I’d try and pick something you can enjoy and not lose much money so I’m thinking an older classic to enjoy for a summer. Any cars you anyways wanted to try? -J

Bought a Dark Horse with the Ford Performance Whipple Kit

I’m awaiting my buddy’s FP Whipple kit also. I don’t hate the DH so it’ll be cool to see yours with the CF wheels and Whipple. -J

    Goals 750-800 rwhp

Good deal. I have a kinetic kit for my Coyote and would have used on my GT500 back when it was new. Same idea on the engine builder doing the install as I had JDM double key my crank and install the ATI 15% balancer. -J

    Goals 750-800 rwhp

An oversized SFI aftermarket balancer should in theory dampen harmonics better over OEM but I did it for the improved belt wrap and SFI for racing. -J

I also went with a lower over an upper when near stock. I’d strongly recommend an upgraded tensioner as well as an upgraded ARP bolt or new stock (factory are single use) while you’re in there. Good luck. -J

    Clay bar questions.

The OEM GT500 stripes (at least in ‘13-14) are unique in that they’re actually painted vinyl stripes. Not sure how that works out for us, but outside of matte stock stripes, I’d treat them like the paint. My sonic blue stripes look great and I’ve never treated them differently than paint. -J

    2024 NHL Playoffs

Red Wings gave me an ulcer the last 2 games and still missed. I’m playing in an alumni tournament this weekend and will give watching a break until Monday. Playoff hockey is the best. Rangers/Oilers in the Cup finals is my bet. -J

    2014 Shelby GT500 - Connecting rods

JDM sent my 5.8 shortblock to Lidio and they assembled the rest. Alternative auto can do it but I don’t think you need that upgrade yet. -J

Been meaning to drive one. Those packages probably take 2yrs to launch anyway but it would be interesting to see what Ford Performance is working on these days in regards to EV. -J

    Broken Drive Shaft

I prefer the CF shaft but a quality aluminum is fine especially if you’re not going for 200+ -J

Thinking of buying a ‘21 GT500. Have a couple questions

Yes ‘22 only model. I’m seriously thinking of having the dealer throw the Whipple on at the same time. Gen 6 Whipple 3.8 sounds like a solid plan :) -J

    Broken Drive Shaft

CF should be the best choice but they fracture with implant. It likely was hit my something. Has the shaft ever been out of the car? -J

Thinking of buying a ‘21 GT500. Have a couple questions

Also you have until the original warranty ends to add the extended so you don’t have to do it now. -J
