I made that one years ago. I just swapped it over from the 2.9 that was previously on the car. I'm sure you could make what you have work with a dremel or a file....it just needs to block a hole.
I used 1/8 pneumatic push lock connectors on all boost reference lines. You can find them on Amazon. I had and have alot of the fittings and lines already in my shop, I did need to find some fittings that I needed and everything was on Amazon.
I did exactly what your thinking with the doorman. My blade was cracked also and I swapped blades with my original one, it fit perfectly and works like the original. The doorman is now a backup if needed.
Sounds like clutch. What's the disc material in that clutch? Non organic clutch materials can make a high squeal or chirp in first on take off like your describe. See if it does it after you put some heat into the disc's. Slip the clutch a few times, some times the disc surface can glaze over...
Good eye! My Capri is my Drag car, I set it up to run in NMRA/NMCA back in the late 90's early 00's. It's a SVO block 414 ci stroker with a face plated Doug nash 5spd, I shift around 8200 rpm. Now it's on a mechanical alcohol set up. Its fun but life gets in the way some time.
Ya I think it's the gen 3 title holding it back. But I'd almost guarantee 90% cobra owners wouldn't even push this gen whipple to its full potential. I think mid to high 900hp on a built motor and e85 would be fairly easy and still be in the efficiency range. ......and still for sale! Thanks
I was going to open everything to take pictures of what's included with the kit. But all the boxes are still sealed as it came from whipple and I dont have the heart to open them. So it's still new and available. Thanks
So looking quick to add the crusher "parts" kit to the standard inlet 2.9 is another $2000 , so you'd be around $6300 to make a new gen IV......and that's not including labor to swap inlets. its probably cheaper to have whipple upgrade the rotors to the latest design in this one?
This is the complete kit, comes with whipples 170mm TB and their 123mm CAI. I'm not even sure you can buy the 2.9 in this Kit form anymore? I could be wrong.
Thanks
I've just never got around to installing the whipple so it's up for sale.
2.9 gen 3 whipple crusher kit, everything is new in the box as it came from whipple.
$4500
The minimum I'd feel ok with so you could make good power is...
*Twin Gt pumps, in a modified hat or aftermarket
*Duel FPDM
*Wiring upgrade with relays
*Boost a pump, turned up to 100% on E85
80lb injectors
I ran this exact setup for a couple of years with the stock lines, filters, and rails...
Thanks for the info. I'll look into the doorman fan, but I'd still like to find a ford fan seeing is I really only need the blade itself.
Thanks again!
