Just curious to see what others are setting their shift light/tone at. Mine's at 6300, I figure with reaction time it should put my shifts right at the 6500 sweet spot.
Got tired of scraping on every little road imperfection so I removed the 200mph spoiler. Much cleaner look IMO rather than having a spoiler with plastic shavings always hanging from it. It's real simple just use a 9/32 socket on a cordless and remove the bunch of screws then replace. Another...
For those in the LV area SA moved from Speedway Blvd down to the strip. The place is bigger and they brought all the cars down (including the 1000), but they closed the speed shop. Huge garage out back where Super Snakes are born.
After 3 Shelbys and thousands of dollars spent on mods, I believe I have swatted the mod bug. It isn't for lack of funds, but I've lost the motivation to mod my '13, except for things I deem essential. Examples:
Things I didn't do to my '13:
-Power adders. I can finally, unequivocally say...
After much consideration, I've decided to do MPSS all the way around. 275/40 front 295/35rear. Went back and forth between DR's, etc but I've heard too much good stuff about the Michelins. Got a killer deal from my local Discount Tire $1475 otd includes full road hazard etc. I'll post results.
Maybe this has been asked before, but does anybody make a good set of run flats for our cars? I don't mind the extra sidewall stiffness for the comfort of knowing I'm not going to have to get towed for a flat tire.
For the most part I drive very easy. Car is stock and broke in by the book. When I'm running her hard through the gears, shifting @ about 6200 rpm, I'm hearing a "chirping" sound right after the shift when the clutch engages. Then I smell a little clutch. All other times, it performs flawlessly...
Thinking of doing the Vegas to Jersey trip in the Shelby before the weather turns. Not thrilled going 2800 miles with no spare (or grill but that's another story), but what the hell you only live once. No hurry, just a nice cruise.
Besides taking a plug tire kit and small jack, I'm going to...
I'm reading the owners manual regarding the over-rev feature, and it says something about the redline turning yellow at certain times. When exactly is the indicator supposed to turn yellow? When cold, the line is red from 6250 to 7k. When it warms to operating temp, the red disappears totally to...
There is nothing wrong with your computer. That is an actual IAT taken today. BTW ambient is going to be close to 120 this weekend. Welcome to Vegas in July!
Just as I feared, my rockers and the area underneath the side stripes is getting trashed by rock chips. Why Ford decided to paint them I'll never know. Has anyone done anything to lessen this? I know it's partly because the goodyears are rock magnets but it's really starting to look bad.

Finally did my first oil change at 5k. Those who change your own oil be careful not to overfill it like I did. I let it drain for about 10 min, just a dribble was coming out so I plugged it up, changed the filter and put in the recommended 8.5 qts. As a habit, I always check the dipstick after...
See anything odd about this picture? Well, as always, I park about 1/2 mile away from stores to prevent the hated door ding. Today I parked in my usual manner, and some SOB parks his POS right next to me. There were no dings, but I just thought I'd vent a little to fellow car guys. I have a...
Just wondering what you guys think about the 3.31 gears Ford decided to use in the'13. My personal opinion is 3.55 was much easier to drive for everyday use. I find that 1st is so high it's almost tough on the clutch and 6th is virtually useless below 70 mph. I know Ford had good reasons for...
I remember when there was a waiting list for any SS upgrade. Now they are taking all comers and will build you a Shelby 1000 for just under 200 large. I love the $4.00 tire charge. Man how times have changed..
