1993 Cobra opal floor mats SOLD

Until someone starts manufacturing a repo, they'll demand a premiun. Funny how certain parts just take off. If somebody was making a better reprodcution of these mats, they would't bring the coin they do. It takes a certain type of buyer for some of this. The mats sold to a collector, he's got...

Trying to diagnose a ticking sound

Those sounds can travel and seemingly sound like they are coming from that area. I promise you, it's not.

Trying to diagnose a ticking sound

Running Stainless Works long tubes on this car, so the sound is more pronounced than yours with manifolds: Swap the plugs over, see if the ticking follows. Easy and free way to check. Don't do what I did and assume it was an adjuster, could have saved myself a lot of aggrevation.

At $40k, agreed, price is a bit steep, market is cooling down across the board.

Need help figuring our Carfax info on possible GT500 purchase

It looks like it really had 2 owners to me, the first never titled the car, probalby a dealer. I don't see any red flags here, but the second owner had a clutch put in it pretty early in it's life, car obviously pullied and tuned with it's mods. That said, it wouldn't be any concern to me if the...

    Valve lash adjuster replacement

To be clear though, the car had a distinct miss along with the tick. It was more than just sound, but never once through a MIL light.

    Valve lash adjuster replacement

Swap banks, if it follows it, then you know. I'm still amazed at how distinct of a metallic knock it had. Doubt it would have been the case with stock manifolds.

Just purchased a 2011 GT500 SVT. I have some questions.

I was actaully referring to my response. I try to get the point without getting into the weeds with it all. :) LIke another member mentioned, drive it for a while, see how you like it. If it does't already have one, put a good aftermarket shifter on it, makes really fun to bang the gears on.

Ha, nobody wants to read a damn book out the gate. Gotta get a baseline here. :)

Just purchased a 2011 GT500 SVT. I have some questions.

Congrats on the purchase. First question, did I pay a fair price? Market is still inflated post-covid, but the market is the market. Question 2, I saw a new VMP 3 (I forget the liter size) blower advertised for $1700; does that sound like a correct price? Even for a used blower, that...

    Valve lash adjuster replacement

If it's intermittent, it's not going to be a header leak. If you can pin it down to a side, simply swap them over to the other side and see if it follows. My car: Was like somebody smacking 2 marbles together, very metal on metal valvetrain-like noise.

Same tool I used, worked well. The lasher replacement was the easy part compared to getting the cover off.

    Valve lash adjuster replacement

Totally went too deep on it, just never had a tick that mechanical sounding before and did some research and seemed to be the cause. Live an learn.

    Valve lash adjuster replacement

May have been me. :) It's why I suggest putting in a set of plugs on that side that's exibiting the tick. Mine was drivers side, very noticable and able to pinpoin the side it was coming from.
