Jay Leno had an interesting take around the 16 minute mark on enjoying "slower" Mustangs (in reference to the 2020 ecoboost)
No coincidence that Ford went back to the 4V DOHC Aluminum block model
SLAB = Slow, Loud and Bangin. No insecurities here friends, just a unique insight I thought I'd share. I dreamed my whole life to own a Cobra, and as soon as I could, I snatched one up. My dream is to make equal power as a stock Terminator on a N/A motor. Goals
I quite enjoyed this thread discussion. My spin on the 2001 Cobra, is that us 90s kids grew up around the SN95s and New Edge Mustangs. Many of us view these cars as classics, which IMO, should add value to these cars 30-40 years from now. Especially considering there are ~ 7,000 produced, and...
OP - Once turned down for maintenance as "not a classic", to a man born 1990, Circa 2001 represent an impactful year in a young-man's life. To me... a classic.
Albeit the 2001 SVT Cobra comes in at ~ 70 horsepower and torque less than the overshadowing "Terminator". Frequently, a 2001 owner hears comments such as, "Mach 1 is better", "why would you buy an 01, when you could of bought an 03-04", and some down-right disrespectful such as, "worst cobra...
Oh well, I own the title on a 2001 cobra with 17k miles on it and gonna treat her properly
And I didn’t die, and some people laughed, and I still have my ceramic tint.
13 years ago (at 16) I dreamed of owning a cobra, I finally made it happen. The fact that it’s an 01 makes it that much more...
Backstory: was a video I sent to my brother, was still in my phone, thought I’d share cause it made me LOL.
Sum yal got issues deeper than this forum

Hi, I’m new to the high octane world.
Is there anything I can do to prevent so much damn heat coming through the firewall and gearbox (especially) — or is this one of those welcome to mustang world moments?
** Currently no A/C here on the gulf coast of Tejas, gotten out of the car wobble...
I did not want to start a duplicate post since our sounds are twinkies (01 cobra). Mine is 1000% coming from the tranny.
TOB, and what I suspect is a warped spacer plate.
Even found the TSB if OP wants proof
Some people also physically bent the separator plate away from the flywheel by removing the bottom two bolts first.
Again, assuming this is your issue.
Assuming you have not burned it to the ground yet (please share if you do!), here is what I am talking about. A lot of people put dynamat on the exposed part instead of replacing the plate = boom, problem solved. 17$ attempt might be better than tearing the whole engine apart. Just my 2 cents
Hey buddy, I am super new to the forum and to cars. But I describe a similar problem between 1500-3000 rpms (2001 Cobra with 17k miles on it). Did tons of research and see there is a poor design with the bell-housing spacer. A lot of people found a solution in modifying it, problem is, all the...
