after, it was noticed on the dyno about a week ago..would a change in the lower pully from stock to metco 4lb make it run lean? didnt really notice it before. was making a log pull when we noticed it.. it starts being noticeable at about 1500 rpm. setting still. worse under load.
fuel pumps are good, maf is reading ok, a/f wideband is jumping from 14.3 to 15.4 or so when its misfiring.. replaced plugs, checked and moved coils around with no change... not throwing a code.. maybe o2s?? anyone?
so, im running an eaton swap mach 1. vmp tuned, 4 pound pully, stock upper. cobra heads, lethal dual pump kit. 9.5 to 1 comp. factory maf. c and l intake.
lately ive noticed a bad stutter if i hold throttle at,about 1500 rpm, it gets worse under load... really saw it on the dyno.. a/f gauge...
what's up guys,, general question here.. I have a full eaton terminator swap in my 04 mach. vmp tuned.. lotsa goodies,,, very nice.. here recently I've started hearing what sounds like a tick... drivers head.. on my way home today i played with it a bit. noise definetly gets louder under load...
the ecm still has the stock mach 1 tune, but the motors not back in the car yet.. i get it back in about a week. im just preparing for it.
ill download the files and start checking it out.. what about hardware?? as far as loading into the ecm itself, just a basic laptop? or can i use a...
whats up guys.. im on the back end of a rebuild for my 2004 mach 1. full eaton swap with all supporting mods. cobra top end, injectors ect... but with mach ecm. car ran ok til boost and fell..
i had a full rebuild done, with 9to 1 pistons, fully forged setup. planning on a smaller pully...
ok,i understand the reasoning for the plates,, but do i need to use them for just honing the cylinders? not looking to get it bored.. going with the same size pistons,, in a 9.5 to 1 setup...
havent checked the part number on the one i took off, but great idea.. got a,canton deep sump on it.
what about a set of adjustable cam gears? worth the trouble? i know on my twin turbo, those adjustments made a nice difference.
pretty sure the knocking was a loose chain/bad tensioner.. replacing both just to make sure... and the upgrades to the pistons are definetly needed.. for the boost. gonna replace rod and main bearings just so everything's new and mates well.. got a local machine shop doing my work, been around...
yea,, 93 octane is available... so is 112.. the local track is just a few miles from my house.. not that i would need it.. but the factory mach is 10.5 to 1.. the terminator is running an 8.5 to 1 with the same cams and blower.. kinda figured that would be the way to go.
not looking for major power or anything.. the car came with the eaton swap allready done. i started all this over a knock issue and have been learning since day 1. if the rods and pistons are the mach 1s weak point i want to upgrade, but i want the upgrade to work well with the 12-14 pounds of...
ok,, after a bit of research ive learned the compression ratio in this is to high for alot of boost... with the 2.6 pully it hits 13-14 lbs.. so what would be a good choice here..? 8.5 to 1 ?? if so whats a good piston rod combo to go with? ive got the motor apart and ready for new guts...
not planning on a high hp build.. maybe a smaller s.c. pully, past that its just a daily with a lot of ass to it., my other is a 94 cobra drop top.. i love opening the garage..
