Well, the fist part is what I can come up with - the $5,000. Now, I need a plan to get my car repaired! The dealership says I have either jacked-up rings or possibly a "melted down" piston (hmm...) and I am looking into shortblock options. What is the cheapest route? What is the BEST route...

Well, I finally took the car in today to the Ford dealership (I have put a few posts out about my car smoking) and their diagnosis is either the rings are gone or I have two melted cylinders. Sound right? :shrug: I can't believe it! I have never had anything like this happen to me before...

Well, I finally decided to clear out the "Check Engine" light and change the spark plugs, and I think I discovered an important fact with my car's smoking problem. All the plugs looked fine on the change EXCEPT the two middle plugs on the passenger side. Those two were COVERED IN OIL!!! So...

I placed this post at the JDM spot as well... I continue to get the "check engine" light and when I use the OBD-II scanner, I get the two "lean" codes. Could this also be because of my C&L CAI (+MAF) or because of advanced timing? I was told not to go above +13 with the Steeda Timing...
