SN95/New Edge centri guys - show me your catch can setup

Actually it’s only plumbed into the intake for emissions purposes and to stop the engine from getting a mist of oil coating it in a production car. They want to burn the vapors as they have hydrocarbons in them rather than release them. Venting with a catch can on a “normal” motor saves you...

    Fpdm relay

I can see the female plug being able to be found as there are plenty of returnless cars in the Ford lineup. My concern is the female connector to connect the original wiring harness connector to the new harness you are making. I would appreciate the years of the F150 that the plug may come...

I would appreciate the write up on wiring the dual FPDM as well.

    "Proper" way to delete thermostat?

drill a couple small holes on the thermostat skirt to let any trapped air past when vacuum bleeding. FYI usuallly a smal bubble doesn’t cause the slow overheating you are talking about though.

    03 Cobra Pumps wont Prime

You answered your own question if you have power on the wiring harness at the pump hat and applying power at the pump that runs. The connector has an issue. You could also pull the harness at the other end and see adding power to the end near the fpdm will energize the pumps. Looks like...

    Best IRS / Suspensions upgrades?

Best improvement for handling before you tear into the IRS is to add full length subframe connectors. What is the purpose or intent of the improvements? Tightening up street driving, autocross, weekend track car, quarter mile car? You may want to make a couple calls to Kenny Brown and...

    2001 Cobra SVT Starting issue

Do you hear the pump prime when you turn the key? I always wait till the prime stops and then turn the key the last bit to engage the starter.

Is my fuel pump large enough for boost?

I ran out of pump at 450 using a DW300 which is supposed to be 340lph. I would not expect a 260 ish pump to carry 450hp. You using the same injectors? Duty cycle would be irrelevant if not on the same size injectors.

NWS Pics that make you  every time you see them NWS

Please tell me that was an attempt at a joke…. It’s a sales display. Private stalls there. The public toilets even have a music feature to cover up any additional noises……

    Militec1?

Go look at the old gun debates on this stuff. It ended up being mostly vegetable or coconut oil iirc

    03/04 engine/trans swap into 01

Forgot to mention start looking through old posts here about the swap and the mach 1 forum had a ton of posts on it too iirc.

    03/04 engine/trans swap into 01

You have all the front accessories from the 03 motor? Alt and bracket, water pump, pulley bridge etc? you could run the same tank but if you leave a stock 01 pump in it expect the motor to last about 4 seconds under full throttle. If you have the 03 fuel hat with dual pumps you have to tear...

dipstick with 7qt canton oil pan..??

If you use the original dip stick the oil will be below the seam where the pan and block meet and below the crank. Our motor has the crank not swinging below the block. Since the crank can’t airate the oil if it’s below the block / oil pan line you can fill it to the normal dip stick’s reading...

MG 2001 Cobra Terminator Swap - Build Thread

Could you list the things you would do differently? It would be nice to see the issues based on your experience. Hopefully doing the swap soon myself.

    What do I have?

The factory boss 302 rods were a common upgrade when they were cheap from ford. Ford caught on and raised the price so most go aftermarket now. They are supposed to be good to 600 hp iirc.

    Eaton swap question

Have a procharger now on mine. Fun as the revs go up and tuned safely. No torque hit down low so a little easier on internals iirc. But after this I have a forged long block and an Eaton swap sitting in the garage for when I have time to get it all done. If you want 425-450 a used...

MG 2001 Cobra Terminator Swap - Build Thread

NOS is New Old Stock. A new part that has been typically discontinued by the manufacturer but is still new in box. Differentiates between new and available and new but unavailable. Muscle car parts that were NOS were a big thing on a correct restoration. Usually meant the date codes were...

Looking for build direction for a 01 Cobra

With a 4K budget you are looking at a used procharger kit and tune. Stay at 400-425 and the motor under 3k will be no more stressed than it would have been NA. If you don’t drag race and it’s a weekend cruiser with conservative timing the motor will be fine. Compression and leak down test...

Recommendation on best and most experienced shop for Terminator engine major repair in Northeast?

Get ahold of Cobra Dan. He may be too busy but he does use PK machine in Leominster Ma for modular rebuilds. PK will only build a complete motor though. Getting the motor in and out is Dan or someone else.

Has anyone added a power steering cooler? Wondering if this is suitable.

Forgot to mention you can get it in the path of the air coming in the hole in the bezel next to the fog light. Just need to figure it out while the bumper is off.

Has anyone added a power steering cooler? Wondering if this is suitable.

Not tracked. I had to delete the loop of metal factory “cooler”. I would put one larger than this is the car was tracked. Plenty of room, just need to measure it out and see which size would fit.

Same here. Added a smaller one since I needed room for an intercooler.

IRS rear frame mount - stripped / stuck nut help!

No wrench fits. Ene up taking the rear of the irs down with the bracket attached and drilling out the bolt from the nut. Air chisel to take the nut retaining piece off. Welded a tail to a new nut and put it in the bracket. IRS reinstalled with no issues.
