Welp, guess I'm going to need a re-core at some point. It passed emissions like this though so I'm good for another 5 years.

Stock or aftermarket cats?

OEM cat on the 87 Porsche. Was replaced only 3500 miles ago. Unfortunately 2000 of those miles the car had pretty serious mechanical issues but I'd think the melted cat would have been detected when we did a complete engine overhaul. Regardless, it passed smog with this cat so I'm good for 5 years until a retest. Used OEM cat (no longer available new) is $4k. LOL. Will just bypass and save this guy for the next test. Cats, especially 80s technology, suck anyway.

He in California I believe it’s 1976 and newer needs to undergo biannual smog checks. You’ll like this one too, diesels even have to be smogged. 1998 and newer.

I’m glad they are fighting the boogeyman or climate change. One carbon at a time. Maybe California will eliminate all carbon on day.

Colorado is 5 years for Collector Plates. Annual for regular (unrestricted) plates.

Collector plates on 1975 or older requires nothing but restricts mileage to 4500 per year.
Collector plates on newer than 1975 and at least 32 years old gets a smog test every 5 years and has the 4500 per year mileage restriction.

I guess I could get the unrestricted plates on the 69 but I don't drive that more than 4500 miles a year anyway and I don't want any of those idiots even touching my car.

The Porsche issue has been bypassed until 2029. Apparently having Bosch CIS mechanical fuel injection (continuous injection system) that sprays fuel the entire combustion cycle has a tendency to dump unburnt fuel into your Gen 1 ceramic catalytic converter. Obviously, the results to the catalyst are predictable. This one only lasted 3500 miles.
