It was nice to have her out and about. She got touched up, all new fluids in her, back under her cover and tender. Until we meet again!

I feel like I should have polished my catback exhaust since the cobra has been on the lift all winter....

For those that have done it, how many hours do you have in it? My headers and x pipe are ceramic coated.

You doing it by hand, or with a hand polisher?

Call up a local shop and get an estimate. I think most have a few days in it depending on which brand you have and how hard you want to work at it. I think my local shop was $150 for both pipes.

That's reasonable. Not really any exhaust shops around here. Just thought about doing it myself.

I’m be done mine twice by hand…admittedly did not spend enough time but I have probably 10-12 total hours for both attempts together. I plan on using a polisher next time to really finish it up. If you do it by hand correctly, it will be a long time.

So what pads and products if using a polisher?

I thought by hand, but I do have a porter cable dual action polisher. I never thought of that.

So I’ve always done it by hand. I don’t tend to use the Porter Cable. I’ve always gonna 200,400,600,800,1000, 1,400 , and 2000 to finish it up. I use Mothers Polish.

I plan on following a video I found. I used a metal polishing compound after going from 220 grit all the way up to 5000 grit. I used wd40 as the “liquid” for wet sanding.

I’ll post the video.

At this point I think I'm better off getting it ceramic coated to match the rest of my exhaust.

Look for an actual polishing shop.
It’s not that difficult, just time consuming and a little messy, sand paper, progressively finer and some polishing materials, for less than 100.00 you can do it several times. I have not tried a DA polisher but that might speed up the process but add to the cost

Sometimes a few bucks is worth not having to deal with it. I have a polishing wheel and stuff. But sometimes I just don't want to deal with something.
