I’m getting close to a new purchase and I am torn. Can y’all give me the good and bad of both, including long term ownership. I bought an 04 cobra new and still own it. Plan to do the same with my next purchase

Have you driven both? Different animals, of course. I wouldn't buy either without test driving it/them.

GT 500 unless you have deep pockets to fix anything on the C8 engine wise. Average cost is about $15,000 just to pull said engine and to access it! Hence why all the 2020 and 21 C8's starting to show up on for sale sites!!!! As it is just around $5,000 average to pull an engine from a C6 or 7 by comparison. Again I sure hope GM chokes and die on their psudo Ferrari.

Born and raised Brockton. Living in Naples.
I’d get the C8 only because if I’m not buying a SUV/truck then the roof has to come off so I’ll only buy verts here on out.

I have driven the C8 a lot as my friend owned one and then went onto a McLaren 750S.

The vette does get old getting in and out of and I don’t love that feeling of not having space behind me and just that claustrophobic wall. But the mustang is out due to the solid roof and I don’t personally care about speed anymore just comfort.

So technically I wouldn’t buy either one. ;)

They're both great cars, and the C8 market is starting to soften. I had to wait 10 months to get mine w/o an ADM. The GT500 will destroy the C-8 from a roll, and there's no easy fix for the C-8 due to the gearing. Ford isn't producing the GT500, so there is that to consider too. You can get a 4 yr old GT500 or a new C8 for about the same money (unless you option up the C8, then you're pushing close to $100K.
Depends on what you're after, and what your mod plans are
