I have both and I really can't choose between them. I like to drive both, one after the other. I like how much smaller the Terminator feels and how "analog" it is. I have the full MM suspension on it and I like feeling the road through the steering wheel and the seats. Even though it's less powerful than the GT500, you feel the power better since it feels smaller and not as smooth.

With the GT500, it's more powerful, and the power comes on smoother. You don't even feel the speed when compared to the Terminator. It feels larger and more "substantial", like I'm in a powerful Lincoln. The interior is more roomy and nicer. I'm glad I have both because they're both different cars and great to drive.

(swinging nuts around) but true story, I’ve had two GT 500’s and 4 Terminator’s plus others in the garage at the same time.
There is no winner. There’s just whatever mood you’re in as far as which to drive on a given day.
Ideally it’s best to have both options. If not, the choice is yours if you can only have just one. That’d be a tough choice for me.

U own the best looking Mustang year ever made. I would not go backwards that 6R80 is the cats ass. I love the 03/04 Cobra but the stick shift is just a dinosaur now imo.

I owned my 13 GT500 and my 04 cobra at the same time, I unfortunately purchase a pretty beat to shit 04 cobra, but I still tried enjoying the car as much as possible.

The GT500 is a better car in just about every way, and I'm not trying to bash on the terminators, but it's no different than comparing a 13/14 GT500 to a 2020+ GT500, the 2020+ is going to be the better car.

Having said that, even owing both at the same time, I still always found myself wanting to take the GT500 out. It just got more looks and was overall a more fun to drive car. The cobra was very raw and that made it fun to drive as well.

I personally would never buy another 03/04 cobra, unless it was a low mileage Mystichrome that I would just leave stock.

IMO keep your GT500. But you only live Once, so do what makes you happy.

On point assessment.

the key to choosing an 03/04 would be to hit the jackpot and find a PRISTINE example. Almost impossible to find.

I often feel my ported/pullied ‘03 was more fun than any of my S-197 GT500’s including my two 14’s. However the 13/14 is a more refined car for sure. I’d like to pick up another 10th anniversary ‘03 and still keep my ‘14.

Owned a blown 01 and a 04. Got rid of them when i moved to CO and picked up a 14. Being 100% honest, I personally wouldn’t go back to a 03-04 if i had to sell my Shelby for many of the reasons already stated. It really comes down to raw vs comfort for me. However i would own another 03-04 to park next to my 14 and the wifes ZL1 but it would need to be pristine. Eventually that is in the long distance future.

I wanted to throw a Whipple on mine but I really enjoy the pullied/ported 500rwhp stock blower. It's fun, reliable and the sound, it's real hard to switch up what's working so well.

About the refinement of the GT500, I agree. It's nice, smooth, predictable, etc. Like I said, it feels like a Lincoln. It's nice and roomy inside and the car just feels substantial. It's hard to pick between the two because they're both great rides.

Your terminator is still one of my absolute favorites, everything about it perfect
