ONLY PICTURE I HAVE!!!!
Haters going to hate but I am going to be saving this car.
Found at my buddy's tow yard was going to junk yard so I grabbed it up no motor but trans and complete roller. In need of engine... What year engine 5.0 can I use, and I need complete harness some tried doing a motor swap. I think they hacked the harness part. Can I buy a GT to get all my accessories drives, harness and use that motor to build a stroker thinking a 347. Worst part someone put in a moon roof... terrible!

I'm a purist at heart, so the thought of a 347 is music to my ears to be honest. However, with the most recent advances in Coyote 5.0's, I'd honestly go that route. People are doing them more and more now and it's kinda becoming the tried and true swap for the SN95's.

Coyote's all sound the same to me, and I'm not that huge of a fan of them. The next big SN project I have in mind is to actually do a swap into a GT convertible, but to me, nothing beats a pushrod SBF, and the closest sound I can think of to that wonderful sound is the mod motors from 96-04, ya know, with that nice 'blub blub' sound.

Besides sound, the performance is very significant to do a Coyote swap and the market has been getting flooded with just about all the parts you'll need to make it happen, especially if your original harness is all hacked up. So that's the route I'd go if I were in your shoes.

You can use any year roller 5.0 engine.

Get the Wiring and computer from a 94-95 car (GT or Cobra) to make things that much simplified, use the accessories & brackets and distributor from a 94-95.

You can also use any year Explorer 5.0 engine(gt-40 heads and intake).

Congrats on saving a Cobra!

Seems we're seeing more folks looking to resurrect Cobras of various years from the crusher. I hope this one has a really good ending.

Opinion:
I think it's because some see the 1993 Cobra street asks and shill bidder auction values and are trying to get in on the "what can be next" vehicle to "invest" in and try to come out on top.

(The above has nothing to do with the OP's score at all, it's just a comment towards seeing the same with the Mustang market overall).

---

OP - great score! The engine, FEAD and harness info given above will be helpful and is spot on.

One thing to take into consideration, make sure it still has the factory 94/95 Cobra ECM, more so if you're going to be running a 24lb MAF and 24lb injectors off a factory 94/95 ECM; the Cobra computer is usually harder to find (now).

If it matters to you too:
The 94/95 Cobra flywheel was specific to the 94/95 Cobra. It was not used in the GT and it was not available through Ford Motorsport (it's NOT the FMS 50oz flywheel that is sold everywhere). It is definitely LIGHTER and is physically different than the FMS and prior 5.0 flywheels. In fact, it is mentioned in the original dealer brochures as such too. It matched the factory rotating assembly.

Other notes of interest:
If it had a "factory" alarm system installed, which was the Code Alarm system installed by the Selling Dealer, you may run into stumbling blocks with starting the car. Check the trunk, behind the left (driver) side trunk liner and see what modules are installed on the steel bracket at the wheel well. Take images and post them up.
