More sheep in the world now than ever before. ****ing sheeple.
Are these insane prices just another sign we are headed for a 2nd Great Depression?

I don't know, but things get real whacky before humanity destroys itself.
Not a matter of if but when.

Can't believe the amount of sheep that are still buying brand new vehicles and financing them. Can't make this shit up.

I will finance one to get the best possible price. I will pay it off when the first payment is due. I make sure in the contract there is no early payment penalty clause. I have walked on deals because they wouldn't remove it.

Thats still crazy for a 1/2 ton...but jesus 179 lol
Then again i think 65k is crazy for a half ton but im about to there lol
Way too many people exhibit something called conspicuous consumption and contrary to what some will say, it doesn't necessarily mean the person buying said good is wealthy. On the contrary it shows stupidity, IMO.

Dealers mark them up because idiots will pay the marked up price. Stop paying ADM and it will disappear
If they stop paying the markups then that adds a massive amount more buyers on a limited vehicle making your odds of getting one no better or maybe worse.

A lot of people who pay ADM are simply richer than you, not dumber...

Mark ups matter to the peons. Truth be told there too many people out there making ungodly amounts of money… to them an extra 10-20K is like to you and I and extra 100-200 bucks. Cheap or expensive is relative to the person.
Im a commoner too, but at least I am not a sour commoner. LoL.

It is what it is, folks. Dont hate the player, hate the game!

Who knew dealers occasionally sell limited availability vehicles at a markup?! It is as if MSRP is short for Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price or something.

Still blows my mind that right wing people on a car forum don't grasp this. Since when was MSRP law? Free markets dictate price, simple as that. What a manufacturer suggests is more or less irrelevant.

I mean, I get it. I sometimes look at the mark ups and laugh then think to myself “these ****ers are crazy”… After coping, i snap back to reality and remind myself of exactly that. THE MARKET DICTATES PRICES.

How you going to afford the 300k mustang now when you blew your load on this?
My monthly bills:
Food - $5,000
Rent(including tip for my landlord) - $7,500
Mentor - $7,000
Dropshipping Class $400
Flights to Nigeria - $15,000
Rare fish portfolio - $20,000
Donations - $0
Video Games $0

See the last two? That's why I can afford a Raptor R and you can't.

True story that just happened yesterday. I am getting ready to purchase a Grand Cherokee. Seems this model is not quite a hot seller so I have been squeezing the dealer beyond the factory rebates. He started whining about msrp. There were four jailbreaks literally outside his office. I drug his ass outside and showed him the add ons…. Still waiting to cut my deal.

For sure there are a lot of people with a lot more money than I have. Paying 179k for a 109k truck is not a good way to keep your money though. That just does not make good business sense. That makes the folks paying those prices richer AND dumber than me, will those units appreciate like the 05/06 GT’s? Maybe, but that’s crap shoot. Not that I could have afforded one back then but I was eyeballing an 05 GT that was offered at mrsp.

Curious, are you talking about new vehicles in regards to price or interest rates, or both? With inflation and increased tech features-standard and optional, the price of the vehicles go up, nothing new about that.
The rate everything is going up is nuts, but when you had inflation near 10% for a good stretch, well...

Food only at $5,000 a month makes me think you ares skipping out on Starbucks 3 times a day in the Raptor. Ford will disable your R if you aren't located at a Starbucks every day

As we'd see in Perry Mason in which the attorney rephrases against an objection: Would that vehicle be worth almost $200k to you?

Nope, and I feel MSRP is a little too strong as well. However, Ford will sell everyone they can build in the foreseeable future for $110k. So I don't blame them for charging that. Selling optioned out models like that is all that's keeping the company afloat.

Thats a STRONG argument, counsel!

Motion to DISMISS!

Does Ford produce a less optioned Raptor R? I don't know if I'd say the more niche, high optioned models are what separates Ford from being in the red or black unless, of course, it is selling a million of these things. Mostly certainly it is the more common F150's and SUVs with the toys.

At the end of the day someone is going to sell this vehicle at a markup whether the dealer or someone who gets a good deal and resells it. The only question is who you would rather.

I was at a show on saturday at a large New England dealer, there was an XLT Tremor Super Duty, the ask was $10k over.... Several other SD's were labeled over. Hard pass for me to even think about paying over sticker. Well I would pay $25k over for a Porsche ST (hell would freeze over before you were to find one at that number).
Im still pissed at myself for not buying a tremor at 1k under msrp a few months ago
