Hi Gang,
As some of you know I sold the M8 on consignment a few weeks ago. Def one of the best cars I have owned. Car was insanely fast and did nothing wrong. If I had to nitpick I would complain about some of the interior things but that would really be digging.
I had three cars in mind to replace it...none of this will make sense but here they are.
1. Bronco Raptor
2. Model X Plaid
3. Blackwing
The blackwing has always been on my short list because I am a huge fan of powerful sport sedan cars. The Bronco Raptor is AWESOME looking and would be a hoot to drive all winter in the artic tundra of Illinois. The model x plaid is not only an insane value at this point but also has great tech and cheap to run.
I had a deal 99 percent done with the bronco raptor at my local dealer. He had it at 15k over sticker (total insanity) and came down to 7500 over sticker. I just couldnt stomach it...It was the first time I was at the dealer, all the paperwork practically done and walked out. There is just NO WAY the Bronco Raptor feels like a 110K car. Don't get me wrong, it's awesome but it's wayyyy overpriced even at MSRP. Mid 60s territory to me. I had the jeep 392 which would murder that thing in nearly every category. The jeep was 40k less???
The plaid model x deal was also nearly done but then elon lowered the price from 108k to 89k the day I was going to make the deal on a used one. I told the dealer he needed to adjust the price for that (as I was paying 89k for the used one I was looking at) and he refused. Crazy timing and I would have been out at least 10k if I had made the deal just the day before. That being said the plaids are all gonna be in the mid to high 60's used in the coming months...a 9 second car or suv for that kinda money is mind boggling.
So then I went after the blackwing...2023 very well equipped CPO car at the local caddy dealership with only 87 miles. They have had it for nearly 5 months and had it 30k over sticker originally. They had finally come down to MSRP on the CPO and I felt that was fair. Dealer had to have lost money on it.
Driving impression so far...hard to swallow but this car is the best driving sedan I have ever had...maybe its the magna ride but it rides really nice. It sounds better than the c7z too...and that car sounds awesome. Stock performance is really good. A second slower than the m8 but pulls nicely. Interior is pretty good, cadillac has come a long way to keep up with the germans but there are just a few spots with plastic still...not sure they will ever get away from that...lol.
When I was there buying it I witnessed two Escalade V sales for 40k over MSRP...what a strange world we live in...the salesman was smart though....he fired up the Escalade V in sport mode inside the showroom and no lie, it shook the entire dealership. That SUV sells itself.
