I already have Crower stage 3 blower cams in it.I’d say the guides might be taking a poop. Time for cams!
I havent seen the pieces personally, The shop sent the pics.I don't think I've seen guides that were black in color before, usually white/tan. You're sure it's plastic and not rtv? Do you have a 13/14 windage tray?
Black guides do exist or at least did for a short time.I don't think I've seen guides that were black in color before, usually white/tan. You're sure it's plastic and not rtv? Do you have a 13/14 windage tray?
I don't know why because that's the purpose of the ratcheting mechanism. As it extends the mechanism won't allow it to compress.Didn't they also make spacers to go with the metal tensioners that kept them from being able to retract too far? Should the ratchet mechanism fail.
It's probably more for the racing guys that use 2 steps.I don't know why because that's the purpose of the ratcheting mechanism. As it extends the mechanism won't allow it to compress.
Grading a few teeth off keeps it from getting to tight and prematurely wearing out the guides.
That makes sense. Been a long time since I've messed with tensioners. It's probably more for the racing guys that use 2 steps.
2 step and timing chain tensioners???
I have read in a few places that if you use a 2 step without modifying the timing chain tensioners it can cause the timing chains to over tighten and cause problems. Is this really an issue? Or is this just another "so and so said to do this because of this" with no real evidence or data to back...www.svtperformance.com
All of the timing chain apparatus looked good. Maybe leftover from the last build?Going to look at the timing chain guides.
Better order a timing set…might as well do a Godzilla swap while you are in there.
