On the kid's parents is my stance period, now if your able to claim it on your taxes somehow that would benefit you that may be beneficial? The reason i say this is i have a buddy who owns a rollback and he used to move bleachers for my wife (i helped him) because they hosted a gymnastics meet at her gym every year and he only wanted a letter saying he did it to claim it at the end of the year, I have no clue how or what he was doing for this but he said its worth his time to do it. I could be way off base on my thinking but figured if you can make it benefit the business why not.

I replied back with:

First off, congratulations to your daughter! I'm sure she's excited, and I'm sure your wife and you are so incredibly proud of her accomplishments!

We don't sponsor individual athletes. I with you all the best and good luck with your season!

Yes.

In reality, we all spend money on things we don’t need and could have way more expendable income.

the fact that they can't afford for their kid to play club ball means they have no expendable left. Instead of seeing what they can reallocate they decided to beg.

sometimes there are legit reasons people are outside of their means but most of the time it's due to their own choices.

maybe parents aren’t a charitable or otherwise qualifying organization

Tow truck guy was probably also writing it down at some huge ass value to be actually worth it

I prefer the time tested and mother approved Fanculo.

Wait a minute. They contacted the dealership from the website not to inquire about vehicles, service, etc..., but to panhandle? A definite fanculo to them.

What's wrong with working for the money? They didn't even offer to set up a car wash or something. Nope, "Give me money for the kid". F-that kid and her shitty parents. They sound like a bunch degenerates.

I don't remember anyone paying my parents so I could play sports when I was a kid.
So,........hard pass for me.
I know times are tough, but that's what makes you tougher. Either tell the kid to go make some side money to help out, or just don't play.

My wife wanted to go see a movie last week, so we did. It was last Wednesday night, we walked out of the theater about 9:45pm and were headed back to my truck. We were walking on the sidewalk towards the back of the lot where I was parked and passed a mid 2000s gold Buick Lecerne. The teenagers were in the backseat, him on his back with his head pinned against the door, and her butt ass naked riding the hell out of him.

No tinted windows. Nothing. Right under a streetlight. Kids these days have no decency. I would've at least parked at the back of the lot.
Lucky bastard...especially in thallt pos car...lol

Anyway...since this is svtp and all we are gonna need pics of said team mom

You could be like this guy and ask others to pay for your family vacation

I voted family, as it was the best available choice.

However, family can be broad/vague. It is the sole responsibility of the parent/parents.

Has no one mentioned that teachers that the average number of days worked by a teacher per year is 180? Seems there may be plenty of time for side gigs.

They don't have coal mines in Missouri?

Work first, extracurricular activities second.

There's barely coal mines in WV and KY anymore, you're expecting too much from MO.

I can see sponsoring a team, but not an individual. If you can't foot the bill, just let the kid play at the school level. My neighbor dumped loads into his kid's hockey. Traveling team, trips all around the country and the kid didn't even get a college scholarship. Kid had fun and was a great experience for him, but at his skill level he could have just played school hockey.

Parents need to go to the VB coach and discuss the situation. The schools have plans in place for those types of situations. No school is allowed to exclude a student from school activities because of a lack of money. Club activities are a bit different, but they also have plans in place to deal with that.

With that being said, they won't. Far easier to send emails to people they don't know for donations as opposed to talking to people they likely know and admitting they aren't able to continue their current lifestyle and fund their kid's school activity.

Generally, those clubs will do fundraisers to cover travel/expenses. You also generally have the CHOICE of paying a set amount to not have to do the fundraiser (selling donuts, discount cards, etc etc).

Betting the parents don't want to sell and want to just pay. Unbelievable.

That’s probably a car payment in and of itself..
Ha! My wife owns a horse and boards at a stable with indoor riding arena. Total cost annually is roughly $10K(not including the price of the horse)
I told her she should really get into dirt bikes: just as dangerous, can jump way higher fences, and at the end of the year you can throw it away, buy a new one & still be money ahead vs. that hay burner....

Individual sponsorship? The only time I could see that is if someone has really worked hard and has a unique opportunity.(Olympic aspirations with a very good chance of being successful)

Like everyone else said...this is no different than traditional scamming. The person that sent the email has ZERO invested, a negative response means nothing. But a positive response could = $ for doing nothing but asking.

Not only is there a lack of decency these days...the lack of pride is beyond scary.

I've been told that having horses is as much fun as taking a cold shower with $5k worth of $100 bills and tearing them up.

My 11 year old daughter does competitive dance. Between costumes, entry fees, coaching fees, and travel... last year we spent $19,700. It's freaking insane. I told my wife that I thought it was unacceptable the amount of money we put towards that, and she quickly brought up my racing...haha I tried to explain to her, regardless of how much I spend on racing, my car is still worth something if I decided to sell it.
