My neighbor's daughter just turned 21 and has her Venmo tag written on her car. The handout mentality is out of control.

MAYBE if the kid was actually the one to ask, but since it's the adult it would be a hell no just because of that alone. I'm guessing that kid has never been told no in her life.

wheres the guy the designs houses and kitchens or whatever? I wanna see his reply
First off I'm a builder, my wife is a designer.

Second, my reply would be this. Back when I was playing high school basketball, we spent our Saturdays working on fund raising to pay for our out of town tournament expenses. We did things like car washes, Krispy Kreme doughnut sales, and Worlds Finest Chocolate. I'd suggest reaching out to those type of companies to help with your fund raising.

I voted for sponsorship if you are in a bad place. Maybe i interpreted the question differently sincd i was the only one. But i took that as a business sponsoring a whole team and getting advertising from the deal.

Nope. It's not sponsoring. It's donating to cover her individual fees.

I would say that helping a single person wouldn't make great PR for your company... But sponsoring said League this person is playing in to help under privileged kids compete would look good for the dealership.

Edit: With that said, I dont think a couple of Two income teachers should be struggling to buy athletic equipment.... This just sounds like peasant entitlement at its finest.

1) people are financially irresponsible as hell
2) my step sisters played volleyball and some of those clubs were stupid expensive, there were some they didn't join because of that. The price to enroll for the season, team uniform, travel clubs could be big $ too. It seemed like they would do team fundraisers for certain tournaments out of the area but even then it usually just reduced the cost.

If it's that expensive and they can't afford it then she needs to find another club. If they're just broke AF that's on them.

I dunno enough about it but apparently if you're smart enough and they're dumb enough you can title/word the request in such a way they think you're paying them vs the other way around.
Is she hot?
asking the important questions.

I've seen a few chicks driving around with their venmo on the back, begging for various reasons, haven't seen a hot one yet

This type of shit pisses me off. I assume you're quite well off from seeing your racecar. People would rather take a handout than work and feel like a wealthy person should be generous just because. I don't got it like that but I would never ever ask a soul for money. I couldn't even imagine the shame my dad would have if I told him I asked some stranger for money.

Tell them you've worked your ass off for what you got and they should try it and they probably won't have to ask strangers for money.

Sports is a big business and modern people think the only way to succeed is to throw money at these big clubs. I routinely see people expect the act of simply throwing money at sports to produce results without working for it. It's insane.

If this person is real they need to suck it up and pursue an option they can afford. That being said, this is a scam if I've seen one.

If I see the kids out doing the leg work to raise funds, I support them, as long as its for something good in my opinion. Sports fall into this category.

Shows work ethic and teaches them that work = reward.

Not on board with the parents calling for a hand out. Maybe if the team itself were looking for a sponsor.

For all you know that’s a Nigerian Prince emailing you.

My kids play basketball and someone from the team is ALWAYS looking for money. It's ridiculous. This is the local school team mind you.

Travel ball?? Forget it... those bastards are shameless and would sell their own kids for a buck. Its terrible.

Usually because the "coaches" are fcking lazy pieces of trash with no real job so they look to extort the kids' parents to support what is actually a hobby and not a job -- coaching.

Idiots.

Niko Leonard is a youtuber that just posted a video about buying a Ferarri as well as his new multi million dollar office setup. His live stream the other day was full of regular people donating money to him while he talked about watches. It was insane how much money was flowing to him by the minute in that stream. People are ****ing morons.

I find it amazing they did not even say what the expenses are in dollar amount, that alone would be a reason to tell them to pound sand for wanting a open ended amount with zero information.

Whenever some parent trots their kid out to beg for money for some event or cause, even if it is selling cookies, or candy or whatnot, I make myself scarce. Not going to donate or buy anything from these little grubby munchkins. I know the kids are just doing what they are told, but damn, NO!

For me it’s case by case…in this case, they knew they couldn’t afford it, still let her try out, and are now asking for money. In reality, we all spend money on things we don’t need and could have way more expendable income. This couple is no different. I say NO to this specific case.

Send her $601.00 so she has to report it to the IRS.

My wife wanted to go see a movie last week, so we did. It was last Wednesday night, we walked out of the theater about 9:45pm and were headed back to my truck. We were walking on the sidewalk towards the back of the lot where I was parked and passed a mid 2000s gold Buick Lecerne. The teenagers were in the backseat, him on his back with his head pinned against the door, and her butt ass naked riding the hell out of him.

No tinted windows. Nothing. Right under a streetlight. Kids these days have no decency. I would've at least parked at the back of the lot.

This how I read it as well. We do travel softball and have soccer. There is always extensive fundraising to support that. It's outright fee of $3-500 but I would wager to say there is another $1000 easy per sport that is required to fund raise. Our owner will always religiously kick in $100 towards any employees children for such activities because he feels things like that really builds character in young children. I don't see it per say as a handout. I actually will usually make our children go to the actual business or whomever the donor is and be responsible for inquiring. You want to play you have to put in the effort.

I think it's almost crazy what some of that cost nowadays. I do agree if the means isn't there especially if your doing multiple sports, I think the decision needs to be made to pick one sport or the other type of deal for sure.
