I recently went to back out of the driveway and my wheels were turned a tad. I turned them straight, heard a pop, and my ABS light is on all the time now. Anyone else ever see this? Any ideas? 03 Cobra

A lot of times the wheel speed sensors in the back get really dusty and crummy. They’re easy to get to. Take them out and clean them up real good. That’s what mine was not to long ago.

I have a code reader and there were no codes. Haven't checked wheel sensors yet
You need something that can talk to the ABS module. Forscan is free if you have a laptop but do need the $50-60 obd2 cable

You can pop the back seat and use a DMM in the AC voltage position to get readings. Right should match left at steady speed.

Thanks for the replies, I will do some digging. I just find it strange that it came on right after I heard the pop. I am thinking it may be up front. My car has never been dirty so not thinking anything is gummed up.

The pop is interesting

The front and sensors get dirty bc shit like brake dust sticks to them

You do any recent work to the car? You make sure all the abs sensors are secured correctly? Tire wasn’t rubbing one and ripped (pop noise) it out of place or even broke the sensor?

Nope, nothing. All I did was turn the wheels a tad while still to back out of a tight spot. I need to get it outside and get those front wheels off to check it out. Fluid level is fine as well.

Link for small service manual

There is abs section to read
If you need wiring this only has basic wiring,,

Full manual for pc will be needed for wiring and pinpoint test .

Pop may have been fuse .

Or like mine. Front caliper sticking ,makes a pop when backing up on first move after sitting .

Instrument cluster can also scan ..see cluster section of manual for steps on how
