Have a really nice mat for when you open the trunk. I've tried heavy duty velcro but with the extreme heat it eventually falls. Don't want to drill holes but would like to have it permanently mounted. Any suggestions?

Is it a matter of the adhesive for the velcro failing when the heat comes around? If so maybe a contact cement made for upholstery will work better.

Look at the lid, there are already 2 or so holes drilled into it. Measure very carefully and trace the holes onto your part (or onto paper then transfer to your part). Use long plastic push pins to hold it in place. That is how I held my trunk mat in place. I did slightly enlarged the holes to 1/4” for my push pins. I recessed my pins so you cannot feel them inside my mat.

Funny story time....

A friend of mine picked up one of these and finally got around to installing it. We did the whole measure the distance between the deck lid skin and bottom of the bracing thing and marked the drill bit with tape. He's not overly comfortable with power tools so of course we made him drill the holes. Right as he was hitting the marked part of the bit another friend and I acted scared telling him he needed to stop. The look on his face was priceless. We couldn't stop laughing for about 10 minutes. The best part was the other friend and I didn't even plan it. We just had the same thought at the same time.
