I just received the following message from my dealer:

Hi Eric, we just received a call from Ford. They are telling us that the only 2022 GT500 that we are getting is a Golden Ticket car. You will eventually get yours, but it will be a 2023. If you want the Golden Ticket car, let me know. This car is $10,000 over MSRP because the market is $30,000 - $40,000 over sticker. Yours will still be at MSRP, but because it will be a 2023, the price will go up. Ford is having problems with certain items to fill orders. The Golden Ticket car will be about $120,000. Let me know if you are interested in the Golden Ticket.

I'm so depressed. I had an MSRP deal (at the pricing that was in effect then), order was placed on 11/16/2021, Ford Performance verified the order a couple different times, and now I'm screwed. The 2023 BS just irks me even more. What a kick in the nuts.

Jump on that golden ticket deal.
You're looking a gift horse in the mouth.

They're saying they'll knock 20-30k adm off for you if you want it.

This would be a tough decision as its likely 50% more than what he was planning on...but you make a good point lol

I thought there was no 2023 GT500 ?

@13COBRA ?
2023 is likely the new S650 Mustang, so I think the dealer is full of shit. Just trying to placate me. My understanding is that the '22 GT500 is the last for the S550.

My base '22 GT500 with options was at $91,737 TTL and out the door (this was before the latest increase in base price from Ford). Now, with the CFTP and $10k over sticker, I'm nearing $118,000 TTL and out the door. For me personally, that's just too much for a Mustang.

That would piss me off enough that I probably wouldn't buy another Ford...for quite some time.

And all I've owned has been Ford's.

I'd email or call Ford directly. Even though it probably wouldn't do any good.

Lol at the 120k "for a mustang"

I'm sure Z06 guys are gonna say the same. "150k is too much for a corvette"

No 2023 GT500. Dealer is full of shit.

Tell them to not order the golden ticket car and order the car you spec'd.

What happened was, they ordered yours not thinking they'd get a CFTP car, then when they found out they could. That's what they want to order and aren't willing to sell it to you for MSRP.

The CFTP has higher markup (profit) even before the addendum.

Let them know that you know they are choosing to order a CFTP rather than to fulfill your order. That's bullshit.

I would confront the dealer GM/owner with this directly.
This is the exact BS you’re dealing with, choosing a CFTP car over your order. They’re likely only getting one this year, so it’s their right but use it to your advantage and get a CFTP ordered to your spec for $5-10k over?
Good luck

Response from dealer just moments ago:

The only 2022 model we are getting has to be a Golden Ticket per Ford. They just don’t have everything to make the cars. If you do not want the painted stripes then you will have to wait for a 2023. I can not control the price increase from Ford. If it moves to a 2023, the price will increase. Ford only secures pricing on same model year.

So, it has to have painted stripes - which I do not want. So build price is approaching $130k with the 10k markup.

That really sucks. Take the advice from those who have previously commented as your first course of action. For your second course of action do a nationwide search for every dealer in the country that has a leftover 2021 on the lot that either matches or is similar to your build and make a spreadsheet. Start calling them all and see who’s willing to be reasonable on the ADM. Expect a $7500 ADM or more but at least you’ll land your car.

These cars are officially a dying breed…
