I just don't get it with all this YouTube crap. I get it makes people money, but damn.
It's also about being "seen"....the publicity. But yeah, the monetary income from YT videos definitely plays a huge role. These prank videos, though, are just dumb. Stupid people doing stupid stuff. o_O

I've been wondering when something like this would happen, sad situation all around, but man you can't do stupid shit like this. I feel bad for the guys family that was killed but I really feel bad for the guy who did the shooting because he didn't know it wasn't real, he had to take someone's life because of a stupid ass prank.

Man killed while filming prank robbery video for YouTube in Old Hickory | WKRN News 2

"OLD HICKORY, Tenn. (WKRN) – One person was killed in a shooting in Old Hickory near the Hermitage line Friday night, according to a release from Metro police.

It happened around 9:20 p.m. in the 4300 block of Old Hickory Boulevard at a building with several businesses, including a trampoline park.

Metro police said 20-year-old Timothy Wilks was shot and killed in the parking lot of Urban Air on Old Hickory Boulevard.

Detectives were told Wilks and a friend were participating in a “prank” robbery as part of a YouTube video and approached a group of people, including the shooter, with butcher knives.

A 23-year-old man told police he shot Wilks and wasn’t aware the robbery was a “prank.” Investigators reported he said it was in “self-defense.”

“This is like a huge kids area and when we were in there, there were a ton of tiny kids and it’s just like that would not be a great idea. Especially if anyone was walking out here or something like that,” Urban Air customer Emily Yeager told News 2.

No charges have been filed and the investigation is ongoing."

I know that area of Nashville well. It’s 10-15 east of the airport. I’m not surprised it happened there. It’s not the “greatest” area of town. But definitely not the worst. It’s lots of rental houses & some section 8 housing
