Took the R8 to US41 Street Car Brawl event - no prep ,track runs backwards

Had some fun last weekend at Steet Car Brawl event . It's a no prep event that runs backwards on the drag street to have street conditions .Crazy amount of nice cars showed up . I drove 2.5 hours to the track and 2.5 hours back with 0 changes to the car at the track , I didn't even touch the tire pressure , it was 38/35 psi in tires.

I didn't have my gopro setup during first 2 races so the first 2 videos have crappy quality

Got 10 runs during that event , first 8 are 1/4 mile then the last 2 are 1/8 mile class .

10 . built nitrous blazer - second round . I screwed up this race badly . , I wasn't ready and slapped on the like , damn.. Rookie . it was the first time I ever run a car in such of event so I was a true freshmen .

Cool vids. R8 puts in solid work. Did you beat the bike? Too bad you didn’t have that fancy camera on in that race.

Your R8 is such a beast. Not much there could compete with it. The 2014 GT 5.0 - 2.9 Whippled (E85), with auto was hauling ass and came close.

Thanks . Yea I beat the bike , he was catching up fast but never did .He was couple car lengths back when we crossed the finish line. Pretty cool owner , I've talked to him for a while after the race

Thanks Bob . That 14 GT is a very fast car , mid 9 sec car . It was an awesome crazy close race .Here is the photo finish , I think I got him by less then half a car

Pretty cool event . The only thing sucks on this car racing of off the flashlight is the delay in Launch Control . There is like half a second delay when I let off the brake before the car gets moving . Probably due to the DCT trans clutches being disengaged when car sits at 4500rpms during LC .
