Odd question, been driving me nuts. All of our vehicles develop a nasty haze on the inside of the windshield, usually worst after doing a full detail. I can't tell if it is dash outgassing, evaporation of interior detailer, or what. Any ideas on this? I don't think it is window washing technique- I use Invisible Glass on a blue microfiber towel, very little product. Looks perfect until the first time I go for a drive

Part 2 of the question: I just picked up a 2018 GT Premium a few weekends ago, and it absolutely ate all product I put on it - leather, dash, and paint. It now has "Dry spots" all over the interior that I'm chasing with interior protectant. Any idea on that? It doesn't look like oils or anything that would block product from absorbing into the material, but it's driving me nuts.

Well, my mustang gets that haze all the time which from what i understand is due to outgassing of interior materials. Its weird my marauder never did this when i got it as a 3 year old car. But my mustang which is now 3 years old still does it.

Welcome to the joys of plastic outgassing. The heat we have been having is just going to accelerate it.

Do not use a silicone based product on the interior. The dash will eventually crack. The plastic needs to breath.

Treat the seats with a quality leather balm. They are new, and whatever dyes that have been used are keeping the pores sealed.

I use adams leather conditioner on my recaros and the interior detailer on dash, doors and console, had good results with these. As for the haze on the inside windshield, a little trick I use is to apply a little adams brilliant glaze after I have cleaned the inside windshield.

My interior cleaning process goes like this.
Vacuum
Use handheld blower to blow dust out of dash, console, doors etc.
*Only do this twice a year, clean recaros with leather cleaner
Apply leather conditioner to recaros
Apply interior detailer to dash, console and door panels. Doesn't leave glossy finish, just a nice deep matte finish.
Apply glass cleaner to micro fiber and clean inside of windshield
Apply light layer of brilliant glaze, let haze them buff off.
Have a beer ;)

I use CarPro Fast Glass Towel to eliminate the haze on my windshield.

Removing the haze when it appears is easily done, but it's going to return due to the plastic out-gassing. I used to get it a lot on my old '16 Edge Sport. Annoying, but something you learn to live with. Just clean the glass more often. I now always clean the glass on the inside of my G70 every time I wash the car, which is usually weekly. Then it's pretty much a non-issue.
