I had a pair of slip on clarks i wore almost 5 years in the restaurant industry.

It wasnt a high end place, but the were nice enough that I didnt look homeless wearing them... and damn comfortable...on or off in a second.

Edit: Scratch that, they were Keens. Loved em.

Wear their boots now. Love them too.

I wear cowboy boots or flip flops. If you see me running, try to keep up. Something big is after me, and I am out of ammo.

Combat boots. Im somewhat joking and somewhat serious. If she wears pants as her uniform she could try the Nike tactical boots among other brands that make them. Super comfortable, they're durable, you can get them in black, and most importantly, they are made to grip. A lot of the issued boots use Vibram soles but I think the Nikes probably use their own soles. The more runner-oriented tactical ones have a normal look to them also, not the typical bulky combat boot.

That's certainly an entrepreneur opportunity, making niche automotive enthusist shoes using drag radial rubber for the soles. Maybe some sort of Van's x Mickey Thompson Collab.

Spray stick-em on them until it looks like an elephant jacked off on them.

OP is looking for slip resistant restaurant shoes. Hint, Hint.

Management also dictates PPE based on OSHA directives. If she slips and hurts her self without proper PPE, it's on her.
If they don't provide mandated PPE or reimbursement for it, not only are they at fault, but they can be fined by OSHA for violating rules regarding PPE, such as the employer being required to cover the costs of any required PPE.

Pretty sure they haven't performed even the minimum required steps of determining what PPE is required. Guarantee they haven't performed a JHA, nor determined any engineering or administrative controls which are required before requiring PPE is to be used (in this case, rubber mats should be used before requiring PPE such as non-slip shoes.....but at a minimum, both should be used since the risk isn't completely mitigated with one or the other).
