He's not wrong though. Anymore, there are too many nice cars with clean titles to even look at a wrecked car, regardless of the damage and/or repair, unless you're looking to fix it yourself or unless the vehicle is an absolute steal.
Because no matter what you think or say or propose to know, salvaged vehicles are looked downed upon by most dealerships and financial institutions, and thereby the market.
And so they should be looked down upon. Nobody in their right mind would buy a salvaged title vehicle if there were a non-salvaged available.
Most people are largely uneducated on this whole salvage title thing and what it takes for an insurance company to mark one off as a loss (new vs couple of years old).
Finance institutions don’t finance them because they’re not automobile experts, nor are they savy. Thus they have no idea what they would be looking at so they minimize their risk and don’t finance the them at all.
However some flcredit unions will finance them no problem.
This makes sense.
I’ll take salvage title vehicle any day if the savings are right.
Depreciating assets at the end of the day.
When you can buy a mid 40’k car for high 20’s with 2k miles and absolutely 0 aesthetic, functional, and mechanical issues. That’s when lol.
I’m not worried about re-sale value, it like all cars depreciate year after year.
With re-sale value aside, I'm the one who saved huge on a C7 .

I thought he was asking if anyone would trade an '11/'12 GT500 for a C7, but it looks like he was just looking for confirmation after he's already bought a salvaged C7.
Right, which is why I asked the question. Seems like he wants confirmation he made a right move and getting a little sensitive on the salvage title discussion. Nice car either way OP. Go enjoy it.

The nice thing about corvettes, it's body on a real frame. You can definitely find some great deals on salvage vettes and have a nice, structurally sound vehicle, so long as the frame remained relatively untouched.
Had it for almost a year now. I had a gentleman wanting to trade me his 40k mile clean title 12’ GT500 for my C7 and I backed out. I then began thinking about trading my C7 for a 11-12 GT500 with under 30k miles but after doing some research I, again, figured it would be taking a step backwards.
I paid off my C7 last week. I’ll throw on a $5,000 CARB legal AA blower on low boost with tires and call it a done day.
It will no longer be my daily.

Do it! I helped a buddy with a P1SC AA kit on his 08 C6, later upgraded to D1. The car was an animal, kinda scary to drive once you started to build boost. FWIW I would just start with the D1 from the get go, think it only adds 400 bucks to the kit, that's a lot cheaper than changing your mind later.
I hate the sound of a centri on anything but a track car.
I have a friend with an Edelbrock on a Z06. That thing is quick.
Give it a pull or 2...heat soak city.
