If you are driving this car year round in all temperature ranges, with no extended session track racing, use Amsoil AZO 0W-30 and the EaO17 oil filter. Change the oil once a year, or every 15,000 miles, whichever occur first. 5W-50 Motorcraft is OVERKILL for this engine, which will lead to elevated iron and lead ppm wear, especially in your colder climate.

It's fine to change your oil the first time within 1,000 to 1,500 miles. Amsoil AZO 0W-30 will be the key to the best mpg efficiency and anti-wear protection for your engine in Canadian winters.

If you were to have an engine failure, Ford could never prove the oil caused it. Amsoil AZO 0W-30 would pass all testing.
