I have basically the same setup except cp Carrillo rods and pistons and different cams. I pieced it together rather than buying a long block. Pretty stout combo so far.
I can tell you that if your goal is 1000wheel then that 2.9 charger is gonna be at its max. I was only able to make 840wheel...
Sorry to hear. 99% of the time engine rebuilds are a result of a failure and arent planned (ask me how i know). But like HK said, a blank canvas is a blessing in disguise especially for the 5.4L engines. It will take awhile and probably be a massive headache along the way but the end result is...
@Pribilof @13COBRA Thanks gents, unfortunately for me palm beach only wants ms109 for its current setup. I asked about switching to sunoco awhile back and they said they wouldnt want to run it since they dont have experience with it.
Anyway last time i bought a barrel it was 1100. I went down...
Hello everyone,
Figured this is the sub-section to post my question even though it looks to be mostly e85. I am in the predicament of having my car setup to only like vp ms109 at the moment which is quite expensive. I am only buying 55 gallon drums and i wanted to see if anyone is...
In terms of efficiency yes. Lets say it takes 50hp to drive a whipple at 20psi. It would only take 25 to drive a 2.65 at 20psi. Those arent actual number but you get the idea. That is where you will get the bulk benefit. Of course there will be a bit less iat2 temp and perhaps some flow gain but...
I dont think it will make it to 1000. I just did mine and it made 1005wheel with the following
Iron 5.4 block, 8.5:1
Ms109 octane
Stage 2 cams
Whipple 4.0 at 25PSI
All the standard bolt on’s.
Granted E85 may make a little more than ms109, but not with those low boost numbers. If you have a...
Thanks for the help Gents. I just got off the phone with RPG engines (unrelated), and they said that the bolt is a thermostat bypass and the spring behind the bolt is what regulates the flow supposedly. He says he has never seen a spring fail and he also states 90ish psi under high rpm isnt...
Oil pressure and temperature are monitored by autometer elite series gauges installed in a sandwich adapter between oil filter and the stock assembly. Oil pump is an aftermarket melling. While cruising oil pressure was about 85-90 psi which is obviously high but it was with sae 30 break in oil...
Coolant level is good. It did not start after the 170’ thermostat, it started while the shop was tuning the car on a dyno from what they said. Coolant is 170ish with airflow, and 190ish while idling since that is when the fan is set to engage
Good afternoon everyone. Im currently battling engine oil over-temp issues. Long story short, oil gets up to 240 while driving lightly with a 170’ thermostat. When i get on the freeway and introduce airflow, it gets hotter. When i am sitting at a stoplight it gets slightly colder. This is the...
