    Longblock

I have basically the same setup except cp Carrillo rods and pistons and different cams. I pieced it together rather than buying a long block. Pretty stout combo so far. I can tell you that if your goal is 1000wheel then that 2.9 charger is gonna be at its max. I was only able to make 840wheel...

    Check Engine light Update

Sorry to hear. 99% of the time engine rebuilds are a result of a failure and arent planned (ask me how i know). But like HK said, a blank canvas is a blessing in disguise especially for the 5.4L engines. It will take awhile and probably be a massive headache along the way but the end result is...

Frequent VP fuel bulk order questions

@Pribilof @13COBRA Thanks gents, unfortunately for me palm beach only wants ms109 for its current setup. I asked about switching to sunoco awhile back and they said they wouldnt want to run it since they dont have experience with it. Anyway last time i bought a barrel it was 1100. I went down...

Frequent VP fuel bulk order questions

Hello everyone, Figured this is the sub-section to post my question even though it looks to be mostly e85. I am in the predicament of having my car setup to only like vp ms109 at the moment which is quite expensive. I am only buying 55 gallon drums and i wanted to see if anyone is...

    Road to 1000whp

In terms of efficiency yes. Lets say it takes 50hp to drive a whipple at 20psi. It would only take 25 to drive a 2.65 at 20psi. Those arent actual number but you get the idea. That is where you will get the bulk benefit. Of course there will be a bit less iat2 temp and perhaps some flow gain but...

    Road to 1000whp

I dont think it will make it to 1000. I just did mine and it made 1005wheel with the following Iron 5.4 block, 8.5:1 Ms109 octane Stage 2 cams Whipple 4.0 at 25PSI All the standard bolt on’s. Granted E85 may make a little more than ms109, but not with those low boost numbers. If you have a...

    Oil over-temp issues

Thanks for the help Gents. I just got off the phone with RPG engines (unrelated), and they said that the bolt is a thermostat bypass and the spring behind the bolt is what regulates the flow supposedly. He says he has never seen a spring fail and he also states 90ish psi under high rpm isnt...

    Oil over-temp issues

What would be the main cause of increased temps with higher oil pressure? I recall stock being 65ish under cruising rpm so im already way above that

    Oil over-temp issues

Also no error codes yet, as i think im catching it right before it gets too hot for the stock parameters. I recall someone saying 245 was the mark?

    Oil over-temp issues

Oil pressure and temperature are monitored by autometer elite series gauges installed in a sandwich adapter between oil filter and the stock assembly. Oil pump is an aftermarket melling. While cruising oil pressure was about 85-90 psi which is obviously high but it was with sae 30 break in oil...

    Oil over-temp issues

Coolant level is good. It did not start after the 170’ thermostat, it started while the shop was tuning the car on a dyno from what they said. Coolant is 170ish with airflow, and 190ish while idling since that is when the fan is set to engage

    Oil over-temp issues

Good afternoon everyone. Im currently battling engine oil over-temp issues. Long story short, oil gets up to 240 while driving lightly with a 170’ thermostat. When i get on the freeway and introduce airflow, it gets hotter. When i am sitting at a stoplight it gets slightly colder. This is the...

Dead ECU, at a dead end

Update for anyone following this…. Lund advised me to contact power by the hour regrading the 5.0 ECU swap. I called and connected with Justin and i told him the dilemma and my thoughts. He said rather than do the 5.0 ECU, a 5.8 ECU will swap in and all it will need is a flash. He also...

Dead ECU, at a dead end

@1Kona_Venom probably not. Right now i am in the unfortunate position of them already having purchased a tune/sessions with palm beach dyno. It would be a huge task to cancel all that out, move and tow a bricked car, and find another shop in the area thats familiar enough to get it to...

Dead ECU, at a dead end

@Blkkbgt I just bought it. It is the BFD code and mine was a BFC code. Im guessing its just a job built date suffix or a build date but it says it will work. Fingers crossed. Thank you for finding that man, i cant thank you enough for the help! I also bought a used one on ebay, i couldnt find...

Dead ECU, at a dead end

That i am not sure and i am wondering the same. They are both copperhead ECU’s but 5.0 has t-vct and the 5.4 doesnt. I will probably go that route before i throw in the towel since those ecus are cheap

Dead ECU, at a dead end

@gimmie11s yea i actually bought the fs1 one and they never shipped it. I dont think they ever had one in stock so i had to get a refund. As for the motec, i might go for it but 7k is the baseline then i have to buy about 3k in tunes to get it running. Needless to say, 10k isnt the happiest...

Dead ECU, at a dead end

@Deceptive My local ford dealer ran out the part numbers and advised me that they have been discontinued. He also ran a search of all the other state ford dealerships and they did not have any either. The ebay link you provided is the one i found as well. But when you click on details, it...
