as for the torque, here are the reasons:
1. 8.5 compression is not good for torque production. However, it has proven to be useful in a street car. Never detonated the car, runs like a champ.
2. no long tubes. Switching to long tubes would probably add about 25lb ft of torque.
3. no ported heads. Some ported heads would probably help out a bit.
4. Centri cars just aren't the torque monsters that the twin screw cars are.
