Just as the topic states. How much work needs to be done to make the new GTs attain 500 HP? Now, I'm just talking about bolt-ons, not a complete engine rebuild. For example, would a procharger setup be able to boost the GTs numbers to 500HP?

Just curious. Got a guy driving an '05+ GT around here claiming to be running 500HP. I believe he's got a procharger setup. Just wanted to know the likelihood before throwing up the :bs:, if you know what I mean.

As far as power mods just the turbo kit on the very safe tune and magnapack axle backs.

not without building the motor he isnt. the 3v flow more than a 2v but all ive seen from your run of the mill procharger+support would be 450ish. better have a damn good tune to boot. sounds like another 05+ guy thinking his car is holier than all other mustangs. you have a cobra, take him on the freeway and lay waste, even with equal output you have a gearing advantage with the T56+3.55 combo, once he is done in 4th its game over, 5th in a GT is so overdriven even with 500hp he wont be able to do much but bog down and watch you walk away.

Bullitt we are talking procharged setups btw, not turbo'd ones. Nice numbers!

A friend of mine at school is making 470hp to the wheels with a Ford Racing intercooled whipple and a catback. Didn't even have a custom dyno tune, just got the canned tune from Ford Racing. Also has 4.10's and no suspension mods at all, ran 11.7 on Nitto DR's.

I've been running my powerhouse turbo setup with over 450rwhp for a year now without any problems. I put a boost controller on and had a custom 11psi tune done back in May and have been making 500rwhp/550rwtq since then and the car is holding up great! As soon as I upgrade the injectors and pumps I'm going to up the boost even more to show all the 450rwhp grenade haters what it's all about. If she goes, and that's a big IF I'm gonna build it bigger and better.

^^^haha, so you think that it MAY blow raising the boost to make well over 500rwhp? Ha, hope you have some money saved up for that bottom end.

There are LOTS of people running over 500rwhp on stock internals with Good blowers/GREAT tunes on the S197s so Its VERY possible he is running 500 to the wheels with the procharger.

I have 522rwhp but it took a complete engine stroker kit, SC, aftercooler, and a lot of other things. Once I switch to the intercooler, smaller pulley and meth injection i will be around 600ish but 500 out of a stock bottom end. Tell him to blow a goat!

If you don't wanna take my word for it, check out Modularfords.com and check out the 05+ GT section...There are tons of people running the JDM Saleen Supercharger at 12-14psi on stock internals making NEAR or over 500 at the wheels

Now when you get into bigger blowers like the Whipple, KB, or Procharger you see more and more people pushing the envelope when it comes to power on stock blocks

i don't believe that the internals on the 3v can handle that much power all the time. Their is no way a 260ishrwhp car will make close to 5 with just the blower setup. The motor wont take it.

I know some are out their but thats a ticking time bomb. These motors aren't bullet proof like the termi ones are. Not even close!

500 RWHP on stock internals at 12 psi in 85 degree weather.
The car has over 400 1/4 mile runs since being S/C's August 2006 for a total of 1100 1/4 mile runs.
I have put over 13,000 miles on the car since the blower was installed for a total of 30,000 miles.
My car is no trailer queen either it is driven to every track event and is run hard on the street.
Car was at 10 psi till July 2007
Car went to 12 psi and was dyno'd at JDM Engineering with the canned tune.
The tune didn't need to be adjusted and the A/F ratio is at 12.0
I have a Teksid block which will be stroked to 297 ci.
1/4 mile time in my sig was done with 10 psi and 4.10 gears.
Car is currently at 12 psi with 3.55 gears.
4.10 will be going back in this spring.
