I know my boyfriend is out there somewhere, and will probably read this.

I have a '99 Mustang Cobra, but you would never know because everything has been swapped to 03 04 cobra. Anyway, I had some issues with my Forged MMR motor, anyway its blown, the block is good but i need pistons and rods, and a few other tid bits to make it work again. But I didnt want to wait 6mths for an engine to be ready, so I bought a 03 Mach motor to "temp keep me busy" now I think its super slow and want to do something to it.

I guess the question is, should I fix the MMR motor up or, do something to this stupid engine to make it faster.. Im just sick of being slower than I was.

How long have you had the motor? They have a 1 year warranty on motors and all you would pay is the price of the parts they have to replace and to get it to/from california...

It was put in mid feb. I tried to get it fixed they said it was not covered in the warranty.. blamed it on murillo for a bad tune, and that was that. I asked murillo to help with costs, he basically told me to go **** myself, so it broke in august and i guess its too late anyway.. sucks

In think we need more details about the engine failure. But you need to ask yourself 2 questions; what are your goals, and how much do you want to spend?

I don't see that happening from a bad tune. I'd say cut your losses and never deal with MMR again. Build yourself a nice little 5.0 stroker with a nice set of heads and be done with it.

wow, possibly take it to small claims.

That's what everyone says. I however do not think I will win anything from them. I have the block. I might just sell that bi*ch. Who knows. Maybe put a better intake in the vette and a couple bottles and call it a day. :pepper:

That's some pretty heavy carnage.

To answer your original question, requires a little more information.

What modifications transfered over to the new engine? I'm assuming there is a full exhaust system already in place?

Some other items you might consider is a JLT cold air intake. March Fluid Damper pulley kit, and perhaps a tune.

Those items should get you over 300 hp to the wheels and a decent increase in performance. If you wanted to go this far you could purchase a nitrous oxide setup. A 125 shot would work well to get some of your speed back, even if not completely.

looks almost like the oil pump locked up but the crank kept turning and just chrewed up the pump gears.

I say leave it alone. If you are broke, you just have to suck it up

I got another shop to look @ it. Said they had left the sticker from the oil filter, in its place and just put the parts on. Clogged up the filter. No oil got to the heads, and the rest is history.

I would have smacked anyone that told me to put my camera away when I'm taking pictures of parts I paid for. They're probably covering their asses in case you can prove it's their fault. Anyway.......

If you're broke, there really isn't much you can do. Unless you had a blower on the MMR motor there really isn't a reason the Mach motor should feel so much slower.

Why didn't the KB make the trip to the Mach motor?

Get a good tune and don't beat the piss out of it and it'll last a little while. At least until you figure out what you want to do.
