Has anyone ran the 18x10.5 sk1s on the rear of an irs car? The tire is on the subframe mount. The center caps won't fit because the threads from the halfshaft stick way out. Just want to know what size spacers I need.
I have 3/8 in spacers which allow for the center caps to fit but now I am rubbing with a 305. I am going to try 1/8 in spacers and see if that makes a difference.
I think I'd be too scared of messing up my halfshafts. I don't think it matters because the whole wheel needs to come out no matter what because I'm rubbing so bad. Not really rubbing I guess since the wheel cant spin at all.Do you think it would be possible to grind down the exposed NON threaded portion of the half shaft that sticks out past the nut to allow clearance?
Just an idea I had when I was rebuilding my hubs.
Kind of an older thread, but did you figure out if what you ordered worked? I want to purchase some Whistler wheels, just not sure of spacing.I emailed whistler they said their customers with the irs run 5mm spacers and that they have extended center caps. I knew 5mm spacers weren't going to be enough. I think it's like .2 inches. I'm running 315/30/18 falken azenis. The tire is pushed all the way against the subframe mounting bracket. It's already got the low profile subframe bolts. Someone rolled the fenders. Previous owner had 305s on it. I ordered 1" wheel spacers from lmr. Hopefully those are enough. I'll update when I get them.
I cant give you an honest review of quality. Ive only put about 400 miles since Ive owned them in the last 3 years. Depressing as hell that I dont drive the car enough. With the big brakes and the spirited driving, the chrome has held nicely. I also clean the wheels after every drive and the car is in the garage so it doesnt have to deal with the elements. How is the quality of the wheels? I’m thinking about these instead of dropping 5k on CCW’s.
I drive mine about 500 miles per year so that’s good info, thanks. They’re only 1k for a set so I’m kind of concerned about if they look cheap. From pictures I can’t really tell the difference between those and CCW’s.I cant give you an honest review of quality. Ive only put about 400 miles since Ive owned them in the last 3 years. You really cant. Change the center cap and unless you get really close, they look the same from 15-20 feet. I cant justify buying CCW's or BC forged.I drive mine about 500 miles per year so that’s good info, thanks. They’re only 1k for a set so I’m kind of concerned about if they look cheap.
