Sticky tires + too soft suspension actually make the car handle worse because it exaggerates the body roll, which I imagine as all that would happen to the hellcat. Don't get me wrong, going from like an all season to a summer tire is always an improvement, but you can't just say "the sticker the tire, the faster the car," because it just doesn't work like that.
Realistically cooked R comps mean they are on the cords where they no longer work at all, even with zero tread left they work really well (as long as its still all rubber) Some tires actually get faster at the end of life before they fall off on the cords (opposite of a slick)
These type of shows aren't for the gear heads. They are for the entertainment factor and not for the actually comparison of the cars. Clicks are your friends when it come to BS like this. This isn't true. Randy even states this in the video. The best lap for these race tires is the first. Every lap after they are not as good as the previous.
Three races I would like to see by these Moto journalists with the Big 3 Cars....
Drag radials prepped track
Drag radials un prepped track
4 New Cup 2's on Road Corse with Randy Driving.
Oh ya if your sick stay home. Dont write a plot line for it.
Was wondering when you would come and troll it up. Job done you earned your star for the day.A lot of crying going on in here. Lmao
People mad at the results. Lol

I didnt say cup 2 dont fall off, I even said they would. It is 100% true that some R comps get faster and then the ass falls out when they cord. My point was don't expect a massive difference with fresh ones. This isn't true. Randy even states this in the video. The best lap for these race tires is the first. Actually just read the new Motortrend on a flight home and they compared the GT500s against a Z51 C8 at VIR.
They directly compared the GT500 and C8 Z51 because that was a "closer comparison," and on the back straight it looks like the GT500 did 166.5 and the vette did 153.6. Not really a shocker there. Said and done, after putting the vette in "track mode" (basically just dialing in more negative camber front and rear) the times were as follows:
Figure 8:
C8 Z51: 23.3 @ .90g avg
GT500: 24.1 @ .85g avg
CFTP: 23.5 @ .89g avg
VIR 3.3:
C8 Z51: 2:00.96
GT500: 1:59.68
CFTP: 1:56.30
C7 Z51 (for context): 2:03.14
Honestly, the base GT500 and C8 are near as makes no difference, I'd personally just call that a tie. Considering the vette has better weight distribution, better suspension geometry, and a hell of a lot less weight, it is pretty impressive to see the GT500 run with it. I personally would have expected the Vette to best the GT500 (and at tighter tracks it probably will) but I don't know that anyone should really be shocked by these results.
Its gonna be a hard loss when the grand sport comes out, never mind the z06. I do agree that the CFTP is an odd one. No back seats and carbon wheels on a big ass car just doesn't make too much sense to me. The regular 500 is the way to go IMO.Is it impressive? It has 276 MORE horsepower. People should be very worried what the Z06/ZR1 are going to do to a GT500 in a year. Don't get me wrong, the GT500 is AMAZING. I'm gonna get one. But it's a bit of a weird car to make a track car. It's just so damn heavy.

Yes you can and yes it does.

How much track time do you have to make that statement? I'm not trying to be an ass, I'm willing to hear another's view point on the subject, but that has not been the experience of me or the people I run with.
So you and the people you run with think the hellcat is faster around the road coarse with P zeroes than Cup 2’s? Is that your argument here?
I didn't say that, what I did say is you can't just assume it will be faster with the cup 2.
Throwing a sticky tire on suspension not stiff enough to handle it exaggerates the body roll and makes the vehicle more prone to breaking loose, sliding, exaggerates weight transfer and makes the car very sloppy and less predictable. You can't just apply a blanket statement like that, it would be no different than saying "throw the absolute biggest turbo on a car because it will go the fastest." There are always variables.
Edit: That being said, I did go back and add a "can" to my original statement to make that more clear.
Please, can you or the people that you run with show me one example of any car running slower lap times with Cup 2s over P zeroes?
