I mean. If I were to take a new GT500 to the dragstrip, I'd run DRs...and run the same time as you did. Then I would pop off those wheels and put on some Pirelli scrubs and lap you on a road course. Then I would pop those off, put on some of the stock Michelin's and drag you up and down on your local highway doing 60 rolls. Then I would go home and have a beer, post about it on SVTP and all you will have to say is, "well I gave $58k for mine"....and my reply will be, "should've spent the extra $30k".
Matching the time is pure speculation at this point.
Lapping him is extreme exaggeration. Even if the GT500 were 10 seconds quicker around a road course, which is unlikely, it would take a lot of laps just to lap the redeye once.
If a redeye owner is running DR at the drag strip I highly doubt they’ll take them off for roll races on the highway. Wont be any dragging unless the driver is flat out incompetent. It will sure be great races though.
After all the years of engineering Ford used on this new GT500, all that hyperbole you just spilled should actually be accurate, sadly that just isnt the case. Lol
