So here's something to think about. I just thought of this on the drive this morning to work. How long had it been since we had seen anything from the lord of light or any of his followers in an episode? It had been a while but in this episode they made it clear that both of those two followers were there to presumably protect and guide Arya, and once they were done doing that then it was their time to finally pass on. They established the power of the lord of light in this episode by having her perform two miracles of sort with the fire she set to their swords and then to the trench. Since the lord of light was for sure there and controlling certain destinies then it is safe to assume that most of the main characters were meant to live so that they could carry out other plans later on.
And that is part of my problem with it. They made that very clear, which is the anthiesis of what made GOT, GOT.

Most Super Hero tales revolve around the played out "chosen one / destiny" nonsense that everything was planned from the beginning. There was a prophacy! The main charactors are "special".

GOT set a new standard that "there is no special". It's been a Nihilistic show where people are killed and cut down mid stride before they could fulfill their goals and destiny. It's only in the last season or two (really since Jon came back) that we've moved away from that.

Season 1 GOT would have had the Dickless Ginger die by tripping and falling down some stairs, instead of getting a complete redemption arch with heroic death.

Also, it's been so long so long.

Didn't Bram have a younger brother? The Ginger killed two farm boys when he was trying to show he killed the Starks.

What happened to the girl that was with Bram? Her brother got eaten on the frozen lake... Hodor got mushed holding the door.... The wildling.. She tried to kill the crazy torture guy but died?

Anyone else loving the "Never Seen a Single GOT Episode" memes on FB? I'm like that's like saying you have never seen a single Star Wars and the meme alone exists to prove you make bad life decisions. HAHA

Suprized we don't have that for Marvel.

Classic Hipster nonsense. I'm special because I'm not a sheeple!

That is opposite of a hipster, keyword, hip. They are into anything thats hip. If its a dude, he'll have a man bun and skinny jeans. A chick, feminism and saving animals. These hip things can be interchangeable regardless of sex.

Like the ppl who have never seen an episode of GoT, ive never watched a harry potter movie.

I've been subjected to countless HP movies over and over by my wife. They are actually great movies and only get better and darker as they grow up. Definitely SHOULD be on your movie bucket list before you die taking out a crowd. :)

My only thing to that is in the beginning we had no idea who the main characters were so we thought they were important and they were not. Bran's brother (Rickon) was killed by an arrow from Ramsey Snow and Meera Reed went south to Graytower Watch to be with what is left of her family, so at this time she is still alive. Her bother Jojen Died.

Just like Godstang said, it seemed that those people early on were special, but they weren't and were killed off. That was the beauty of the show, yes, but someone will prevail in the end. Now that we're at the end we're finding out who the truly special people are.

How? He doesn't even have eggs, and they take years to mature. My money is on Arya.

In the previews it shows The Imp walking down a tunnel with dragons on the wall. My guess is Dragon Stone. They also show Greyjoy looking to the sky in panic. He has already seen the dragons and killed one. Don't think he would be worried about a single one. Maybe I am just too hopeful for more dragons.

Also the prophecy that a price will turn stones into dragons. We think it has already happened with Danni, but what if it hasn't.

I've never seen a single episode of GOT. Doesn't mean I'm a hipster though. I struggle watching any tv show, movie, etc.

That, and we only have a 16" antenna for getting local channels. My wife has a Prime subscription that we occasionally find something decent to have on in the background.

It's not about whether one watches it or not. It's about thinking so highly of one's self for not watching it that one feels the need to announce it far and wide.

Hmmm... a cool, but annoying, ending would be: Danny and her dragon dead, her armies on the verge collapse, lots of main characters dead trying to kill Cercei. Jon is despondent walking the hall with the stone dragons, he screams in rage and frustration, and we see a stone dragon crack, revealing an eye...cut to Greyjoy looking up in panick...the end.

Maybe the Greyjoy panick scene is just Danny figuring out he can't shoot starigh up and and attacking from directly above.
