Keep meaning to post this but I am doing a quick baseball trip next weekend. Flying into Dallas Friday morning and driving to Houston. Catching an Astros game and then driving back to Dallas Saturday to catch a Rangers game. Flying home Sunday morning.
Any of you Texas boys going to either game? Have suggestions for things to check out. Won't be much free time but I want to see what I can.

This Friday against the DBags or next Friday against the Angels?

Next Friday against the Angels.

I might be at that game but not sure yet. I'm moving into my new house that weekend and may not be able to make it. Unfortunately it's been raining here every day for about 2 weeks and will probably be raining then too so that'll limit activities.

Guys, think our society is hopelessly divided? Think there's nothing we can come together on? Well, think again, friends. Yesterday at Fenway Park, both Red Sox fans and Mets fans joined together in a warm and heart-felt 'Yankees suck!' chant.

It certainly warmed my heart, and gives me hope for the future. :D

Haha, didn't see that.

Red Sox can really coast these last 2 weeks and give their players some rest before the playoffs. Good luck to Cora still trying to figure out that disaster of a bullpen.

Tonight is a classic example of why the Red Sox will get bounced in the first playoff round. 1 run game, late innings, enter the bullpen.... walk, walk, 3 run home run. Pathetic. Why Cora gave his starter the hook after 6 outstanding scoreless innings at only 83 pitches is mind boggling to me when he has nobody to turn to out of that pen.

The ****ing walks are the most infuriating aspect to it all. They are giving up so many free passes and they always come back to haunt them.
And why the heck can't David Price pitch against the Yankees? He was doing so well.

Price sucks against the Yankees probably for the same reason he sucks in the post season. Can't handle the pressure.
And where is the offense? Where are the home runs? Even J.D. has turned into a singles hitter.

The Red Sox should be ashamed of themselves. ****ing absolutely pathetic display.

I challenge anyone to give me an explanation how and where the Red Sox are better than the Yankees. The Yankees are better in every aspect.
When Brock Holt has been your best hitter over the last few weeks and Steven Wright is your best reliever out of the bullpen you know you've got problems.

Better in every way except where it matters...wins/losses.

Go Sox!

Those wins and losses mean nothing starting next week. If the playoffs were in July when the Red Sox were almost unbeatable I think they hang another banner but the playoffs are in October when its colder, the competition is better and its not so easy to pile up runs anymore.
When your in the final week of the season and the manager is still trying to figure out who's going to pitch the 7th and 8th inning, that's a problem. A big problem.
Maybe the Sox have what it takes and I'm not counting them out but I have serious doubts.

They mean a ton...shows you how well the team did all season, especially against those that they’re going to face in the postseason.

Sox will be fine. The last two weeks are nothing but getting guys rest while giving others more playing time. The bullpen is fine and the boys are hitting. WS Champs will come from the AL, be it the Sox, Indians or Astros.

The only thing those wins get you is home field advantage, which I think is important in baseball but when the playoffs start, everybody resets to 0-0. Just ask the 116 win 2001 Seattle Mariners how all those wins worked out for them.

Its encouraging to see them hitting again but to say the bullpen is fine is quite a stretch. There is nobody that has proven to be reliable Cora can go to in a close game in late innings.

I'm with you 100%. My only thoughts are Eduardo Rodriquez has looked good coming out of the bullpen. Wright has been pretty good too. I guess we need to wait and see. I'm willing to give ERod a shot as a late inning guy since nobody else can be trusted.

I would also like to add that Minute Maid Park is awesome! The energy is that place is nuts. I've now been to 18 parks/stadiums and it is up there as one of my favorites.
Globe Life Park was the opposite. Pretty sad and somber. Obviously their season has been bad, the weather wasn't the greatest and they got crushed.

I would love to go to ERod in late innings but with Price's postseason record and never knowing what Porcello's gonna give you from start to start, ERod is my #2 starter behind Sale. So to me putting him in the 'pen leaves a big hole in the rotation.
Wright has been good but a knuckleballer is not a good option to me in late innings. Especially with men on base where the possibility of a pass ball or wild pitch greatly increases.

Anyone listening to baseball on Monday afternoon? I have the Brewers and Cubs on the radio right now, they are playing for the division.
