This has been a process. 6 years of ownership. Never expected to be here. The car just kept going quicker. Year by year, 10.53, 10.31, 9.92, 9.66, 9.29 and now 8.94.

I sweat the details and that seems to go a long way. I stayed on the same pulley for three years (9.92 to 9.29), changing other things (E85/ice tank, ported lower/Gen 2 case/larger t body) to see gains.

Here are the basics:

JLT Super Big Air
Whipple Big Bore 170mm
VMP Gen 3 (ported lower)
Aluminator (Gen 1 - stock heads/cams)
BBK 1-3/4" longtubes, Dynomax Bullets, turn downs
Built 6R80, stock converter
Return fuel system, ID1300's
Ignite Red
Trunk mount ice tank
Strange/Viking/BMR suspension
3720lbs w/me

I drove it a couple hours to my favorite track, US41 drag way and met up with some buddies and we threw down. The air was good, not great (800'-1000') and the track was on kill. I made this one pass, hit my goal and called it a day. Chilled and videod my friend's passes. Just an excellent day at the track.

1.32 / 5.74 @ 122 / 8.94 @ 153

If you have any questions, fire away. I'm an open book. Thanks for reading.

Street driven?

Absolutely. It's a stock trans, stock converter, stock gear, stock cams car. Out of boost, it's just like a stock version. But if you floor it...

I drove it to Oklahoma city and back to Indiana (24 hours total) in May on 93. It's a forged bottom end, moderate amounts of boost and on E85. Otherwise not much different in regards to the drive train.

That is awesome. Those things are so impressive. What do you think the total cost of labor and mods was? Did you do any of the work yourself?

Thanks Guys.

I do some things myself and get competent help for things I'm uncomfortable with. I would say I have about $44k in the car at this point including the purchase price of $26k for a Premium, 6R80 car with 2,400 miles on it back in early 2013.

Great bargain for the money sir. And you've gotten to build it yourself. Props.

With the introduction of the gen blower cases, i feel like i am hearing less and less about KB and whipple blowers. I wonder if they will come out with front feed stuff for 5.0's. Great thread.

Congrats man, car is nasty! I wondered how much faster it could go before you just absolutely had to throw suspension under it. 9s was no joke, and now 8s? Even with the drag setup it's a sleeper!
