Hi Guys,

Thank you for letting me be involved. I hope this post is ok in this section as I could not find a "better" section to post this... I have a foxbody so Im not new to the mustang world, but I will (hopefully) be new to the terminator scene. I found a 2004 cobra convertible close by and I am ready to jump on it...Its a silver 2004, 81,xxx miles, 2 owner, CLEAN CARFAX, Always in Southern state and I didnt see any rust issues at all. The current owner bought it in 2008 w/ 39,xxx miles. It has some rock chips, some peeling paint on the side of the bumper...Id give the exterior 6.5-7 out of 10, Interior is about 8/10.... It will need either a top repair or a new top ($1200installed) very soon as the current owner says it leaks slightly around his rear window. One rim has a gash in it, and obviously the paint issues. It seems like an excellent deal, but I would love to get some more input from some of you all who are experienced in them!
Here are a list of the mods...

Mods: Stiegemeier stage 4 port
2.76 blower pulley
60lb injectors
Jlt ram air intake
Sct ba2800 MAF
Accufab polished intake
Accufab single blade TB
Fluidyne heat exchanger
Ngk tr6 plugs
Kenne bell BAP
Raptor shift light
Boost gauge,
air/fuel gauge
Bassani cat back
Pypes off road x
Sct/bama hand held tuner(tuned for current mods)
5.0 short shift
Eibach lowering springs
T-56 w/spec stage 2 clutch
9/10.5 wheels(lots of tread)

I truly appreciate any and all input on it.......including what a fair price is and what you think I should pay for it...

Not gonna lie, the BAMA tuner is a concern to me. Not wild about their tunes personally. Everything else sounds good.

What is he asking for it?

The air filter looks pretty rough as well. Is it pretty dirty? Just some small hints as to how a car is maintained over time.

I just sold a silver '04 vert with 50,000 less miles and I've watched prices like a hawk. If you have the budget for maybe $8-9K more, you would be surprised what you could bring home. If that is outside your budget, I understand. We work with what we've got. The condition of that one just worries me some.

Not that the price isn't fair. I'm just wondering what the condition of the mechanicals are.

Im not ready to spend $20K+ on one.... How much did you sell it for? He is getting me the print out of the service records from his local dealership

I sold it to a member here so I won't post the price. I'm not saying the price you posted isn't fair, but judging from the visual condition, you need to be vigilant in determining the condition of the mechanicals.

Just keep in mind, at 81,000 miles, with those mods, that car has probably been beat on pretty hard. I would be willing to venture it is cleaner than mine was when I bought her. Mine only had 29,000 miles, but they were hard miles. I have a ton of work in their thing now making it right.

Does the car have a wideband on it? Did you get into it a little and see what type of readings you were getting?

When I got on it, everything looked to be in the correct range on the gauges....

If he will let you, do a compression test on it. Just to be safe.

These cars aren't Foxbody cheap to fix.

150 or higher with compression being within 10% of each cylinder. I've read compression values all over the place on these cars.
