So I recently got orders to Japan and can't help to think about which car I want to buy.

It's coming to the sweet spot for exporting these cars (25 years) and alot of great cars will be available for me to bring home.

Obviously the Supra, rx7 and GTR are at the top of my list.

Which one would you buy?

Always had a thing for the GTR and the R33 would be good, or possibly R34 depending on how long you're there before coming back.

Still irritated my nephew screwed around when he left Japan (Marines) when he came back October. They would have foot the bill for shipping, I was willing to buy the car and handle everything else.

no reason to buy a rx7 or supra, you can get all the leet jdm parts and the cars here anyways.
You could buy a Supra in the US, but you will be spending doubled and it will have significantly more mileage. There are still lots of untouched, stock Supras in Japan.

OP should look here and auction houses for his next JDM car:

You could probably set yourself up to make quite a chunk of change overnighting parts from japan.

Beyond setting up a supply chain for importing clean cars, ricers seek imported motors and right hand drive parts too right?

When I was a teenager in the '70s we had a Japanese ex-pat executive living in a big house behind my parents.

My dad was talking to him across the fence in the backyard one Saturday and asked the Japanese neighbor why he was driving this brand new (mid 70s') gigantic Buick Electra 225, instead of one the new Toyotas or Hondas that were making their way into the US market.

The Japanese guy smiled real big, held is arms outstretched and said with a big grin looking at his big Burick and said, "Because, this is fine auto-mo-beer!!

Right hand drive, true import, Toyota Soarer (same as a Lexus if that year). This is the last car I finished at my dad's shop. A wide body kit was installed.

This was running a built, turboed Supra engine.

I've been leaning towards the Supra.

It would be pretty bad ass to have a Supra and Cobra side by side in the garage.

I've never been an import guy so I have a lot to learn, but at first glance the Supra seems to have won me over.
